The most important rule is to do what actually makes you happy and not what society tells you what should make you happy
@KhakiPance
@KhakiPance 5 жыл бұрын
The word "should" plagues the mind with an uncertain future which can be a detriment to your self-esteem. "this should make me happier", but if it doesn't, you get frustrated. "this makes me happy" puts some certainty into your thoughts which makes you believe yourself and makes yourself more confident
@tomsterbg8130
@tomsterbg8130 24 күн бұрын
This advice can be taken in skewed ways so to clarify, it's not what makes you happy, it's what you feel is correct. Happiness can come from many things, but you should look for long-term lasting happiness which is hidden in ways of life, like stoicism. Not for temporary happiness that you get every day and it lasts a bit and then leaves a hole, like from entertainment and youtube. So just better to follow what makes you feel like you're doing the right thing with an informed choice rather than follow happiness, it will come naturally if you chose the right things.

Good advice! I personally want to get more involved with my community by helping with community service but it's hard to find opportunities doing so because I live in a new state and don't have many connections. Also, I dance everyday and I agree fully that it can really help improve your mood. It's great expression and exercise and amazing for learning better body awareness. Can't wait for the next video dude!

6:10 i love how very often i spend a whole day learning, self-improving or just programming my projects and when i take the break to shower or just do something less requiring of mental power, that's when i find solutions to problems i encountered throughout the day, it's magic what the brain is capable of, but too bad we are in the habit of not listening to what it has to say

I remember the first time where I found myself and my goal in life. One day, I went to my english classes (bc I speak spanish) and something no one in my class expected happened. Because that day was the 50 years of the moon landing, our teachers made a presentation about how the moonlanding came to be, and how it impacted all of our lifes. I am not into space stuff, I always had a weird feeling about it. First I thought this speech was going to be meaningless and that I would forget it the next day, but it wasn't just like that. I saw the point in my life. How I wanted to live it. I wanted to make a change, to inspire those around me. It didn't need to be a big change, but just make the day of someone a bit better, even if it's the bus driver or the cashier. I want to be proud of myself and make the legacy of my life (my kids) follow that pathway for their life. I hope I made someone's day better with this comment

I lost my father when I was 5. I do not cry because At that time I never knew taht people who die never come back. I waited for him to return. Eventually realising that's not gonna happen. Then I had developed maladaptive daydreaming. Also I realised if my mother could take care of everything what's the point having a father. And slowly I began to think all men are useless and just trash not that I treated my male friends badly but inside I used to think so. Until I met a professor in Uni who so nice and inspiring to all students. I got to know that he also has a daughter. I felt oh how nice it would be to have a father like him. For the first time I thought maybe it's not bad to have a father But the next semester he moved to a far away University and I'm just sitting here and crying. I never thought I would be sissy l never cry like whiny baby this emotion was so new to me. He doesn't know i lost my father, i never told him. He might think I silly to see him as my father and trying to grab sympathy maybe. It's been almost a year. But it still makes me cry like hell. What do i do????? 😭😭😭😭😭

Improvement Pill, I agree with you on not getting married being the best idea. I’d also like to challenge you on #6 when you said “if you love each other, just live together”. Even living together can create monotony and the spark & love could die out. How about just staying in a committed relationship? Living together does not have to be the end all be all

Because it forms new neural connections and you don't just run 100% habits. In fact, you create global, habits for interacting with any new / complex / incomprehensible things! @@rangv733 'just live together' .. is a nice idea but people want more of an initiation/binding process, something with a story and purpose b/c when things seem impossibly hard that's reminds you of your foundation. marriage is uniting til death, its a less crazy of an idea to pull-in a 'third' person later just to spice things up than to suggest people to 'just live together' and expect them to naturally stick through the toughest of times.

Yes!
