Glad that I can understand and use both English and Mandarin although my mother tongue is none of them. I love languages and I hope I can be a polyglot one day ❤ 其实我的外语能力还要提高提得多,因为我觉得我的表达能力还是有限的。很多时候我想用外语表达我想说的话但是有点难的,而我却没有那么好的条件去外国练习语言,因此我挺喜欢在KZbin上看你们母语者人说说话。

That's exactly what's needed, ready-made sentences to get used to hearing and pronouncing. All the rest of studying is much less useful in comparison if the goal is to speak and understand living speech of normal Chinese people. Thank you, Shuo, for this common-sense move. Hope you record many more useful videos like this one.

This is like a phrasebook, only covering topics more in depth, since we're all students. Love it! 你叫什么名字?might be weird grammar when compared to English, but it isn't any weird when you approach it from Spanish, actually it's quite straightforward: 你 (te) 叫 (llamas) 什么 (cuál) 名字 (nombre). The direct translation sounds broken (the usual sentence would be «¿cómo te llamas?»), however it's 100% understandable. The more languages you speak, the easier is to understand new ones. 😃

This is the way ! Very similar to the Glossika method I’ve been using every single day the past 3 months (I guess similar method, even building your own phrases decks works as well, not an ad 😅). Saves my life especially now I live in China ! It really helps with listening comprehension, absorbing grammar patterns and liberating speech which is always intimidating. Most important is to pronounce the phrases immediately after at least 2-3 times, to practice pronounciation and flow just like a music instrument 🎶

I could not disagree more. After learning to speak Spanish fluently and then starting to learn Chinese, I began to think of Spanish and English as two dialects of the same language.
@jaxonmattox9267 Жыл бұрын
@@jamesjames4652 They have more similar vocabulary, but the similarities mostly end there. Chinese verbs aren't conjugated, English verbs are usually not conjugated, spanish uses plural markers (idk wtf its called) like "las manzanas" so plural stuff is twice as complicated. Spanish even has some tonal words like Como and cómo, Que and qué. The similar vocab helps English speakers learn spanish vocab fast, but memorizing vocabulary is the easy part of learning a language

Knowing what the characters look like originally can help understand the meanings and remember them vividly. know yourself as well as the opponents.
