@@NESComplex good to hear Chris. Like i said, i was always a fan and one of the first channels i really looked into was yours. Your top 20 SNES games was great. You put a lot of passion into your "reviews" of them, it makes you really believe the games are as good as they are known for, or as good as you say. I showed the Top SNES #'s 10-1 to a couple of buddies of mine, ones who actually never played SNES or even had one...and they were like "wow, i missed out, i gotta start playing these"...but unfortunately, they are gamers who really only stick to the new stuff...which is a shame, and a TRAGEDY lol, cuz if you've never played Super Mario World, Link to the Past, and of course, arguably a top 3 game ever made, now and in the future, our beloved SUPER METROID, well then...i just feel sorry for them lol... Super Metroid IS, as you say, a MASTERPIECE, and at the very least, ONE OF, if not the, finest gaming experience one can have, like you said... just the music alone, my god..it's hard for me even to press start and play the game, cuz that opening music and title crawl..it's BONE CHILLING!
@NESComplex5 жыл бұрын
@@masterrserch3971 I'm so glad you enjoy these videos and i hope the stuff i'm working on is just as exciting for you! I hope to do a full Review and Retrospective for SMW in the coming months. We will see... LONG LIVE SUPER METROID
@masterrserch39715 жыл бұрын
@@NESComplex will be looking forward to the SMW one... it's so hard to actually pick your favorite SNES game...when im playing Super Metroid, im STILL floored by how awesome it is, and i go "come on, nothing can compare to this game, it's the greatest..." then i pop in Link to the Past, and THAT game's music is amazing too, and i go "nah, i was wrong, it's this game, this is the best"......then you play Super Mario World, and you go "oh boy. How can any game beat this game, the graphics, the tight game play, the just FUN vibe and smiles it provides lol".... but i think, actually not even mentioned in our talks, my favorite game ever might be Final Fantasy 2 (4)... i just love that story line so much. I love all the characters. It's not too sappy, it's one of the best battle experiences in a role playing game. I actually LOVEEEEE the fact that you have to go to the Moon, and then you find all the lore about it, and the people there, and your heritage. I love the fact that, as a MEGA Star Wars fan, Golbez is kinda like Darth Vader, and that SPOILER WARNING FOR ANYONE THAT HASNT PLAYED FF2 AND WANTS TO PLAY IT AND NOT BE SHOCKED/SPOILED.... . . . Golbez and your character Cecil (or SeRcH, as i always rename him lol), are brothers. It has that "No...I am your father..." Empire Strikes Back reveal feel to it, when they show that you 2 are related.... Then on the other hand, FF 6/3 is amazing too, has such incredible music, and storyline, and also has some VERY hard hitting emotional scenes. I think maybe that is why i sometimes consider it to be the best, because of the weight of the emtion in those scenes. And i get caught up in the moement, not reazling that OVERALL, perhaps in my opinion, FF2/4 is actually better..... i dont know kiddo, it's tough...it's def tough..

I guess I'm showing my age because I not only recognize all those games, I remember when many of them were viewed as NES classics, rather than being forgotten in an era where kids only know of Nintendo titles like Super Mario Bros and a handful of third parties like Mega Man.
@masterrserch39715 жыл бұрын
So mNy of the games on this video ARE actually classics that I'm surprised he put on this... Metal gear, stinger, wizards and warriors, ducktales, and baseball stars just to name a few!
@BainesMkII5 жыл бұрын
@@masterrserch3971 Yeah, but they are only classics to someone who knows they exist. Long ago, I was sad that there were Zelda fans who only knew Link to the Past on the SNES, not the NES games. Then I started running into people who only knew Ocarina of Time, they'd never even played SNES games. Then I started running into people who'd never played the N64 Zeldas. Same with other franchises.

@@NESComplex oh dont get me wrong, i'm not criticizing or anything, im just saying that i think some of them are definitely classics, and probably more well known than you'd think.... some of them are "classics," but only to the players that actually played them, like Lil Samson, which was hard to find...like i mentioned, i have that Raspberry Pi thing, so im able to watch vids like these and then go on and try out games that i never played, which for as many as i konw here and say are classics, there are a bunch i never played...adventure island is one, faxanadu is another... good stuff, all around though...

You nailed a lot of them but a few I would like to add to this list. If you haven't played G. I. Joe's Real American Hero's, you gotta try it probably one of the most overlooked games on the NES library. Vice Project Doom is also one of those games with different play style that's really good.
