I have one of those OG "brushed" starter M12 drill sets. bought it at Home Depot back in 2013. that's right, that means it's now 10 years old, and If you saw it you would know that what I'm saying is true. It's absolutely BEAT TO HELL and all the over molding is torn off leaving just red plastic, but guess what...? the BLOODY THING STILL WORKS.😎 2 years ago i used it to drill 4 holes through 1/2 inch steel plate with a 1/2 inch diameter black oxide bit. the motor was literally smoking and i thought this would finally kill it and i'd have to break out my M18 kit, nope, just used it yesterday to drill through 1/8" STAINLESS STEEL plate (with Milwaukee Cobalt coated bits) and anybody who's ever tried to drill stainless knows it's one of the biggest pains in the ass you can ever face in regular consumer life.
@Chris.Rhodes11 ай бұрын
@@phillyphil1513 I still have my m12 brushed drill and impact I'm probably going to sell because I use the flat nose 1/4" fuel impact more than anything now with my job, so the brushed drill and impact just sit around. As funny as it sounds, the brushed impact was actually smoother than the fuel brushless. lol

Love it. I see so many comments about “oh but if they charge so fast then they are gonna wear out” if Milwaukee is warranting them for X amount of years then believe they know they will last that long
@702_el_maloso511 ай бұрын
They don't last long. 2 years max. The only reason why I get them is because of the warranty.
@meme588711 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. In x years, it won't have 100% potential. So unless a person can tell or tests it, they'll be stuck with a deprived battery. Example, Tesla battery warranties... to get it replaced, I believe it has to hold at least 70% charge to not qualify. That's 30%!!! being left on the table! For 300miles range, that's 90 miles! Almost 1/3. Or just like any warranty, the product dies literally right after. Another example, my 08 Nissan Altima. 120k mile warranty. Transmission died at 122k miles. No joke. Granted, battery tech has come a long way and I'm still for battery tools, but your argument is also flawed. Batteries are very complex.
@johnargumaniz917911 ай бұрын
@@meme5887 when the Milwaukee batteries can’t hold full charge they show it on the battery gauge. Only 3 light instead of 4 will light up on the fuel gauge.

Man I was beginning to think Big Red was going over the top with their packout stuff and pricing on their tool lines... and while they continue to release impressive innovations in tools i find myself most impressed they bothered to go and fix QOL issues and offer upgrades to past models. The shoulder strap on the totes, and the handle on the packouts have been one of their most annoying oversights for a large portion of their consumer base. Its such a small thing but to me is them saying ya, we hear you and should have done better there. Here's our way of fixing it. Definitely has renewed some faith in Milwaukee. They at least deserve some credit for listening to feedback and striving to improve their lineups.

Rob, Sarah, I would like to ask your opinion on the near future of the power tools. I am strong in believing that the electro-mechanical portion of the tools, especially after introduction of the pouch cell battery technology, have reached such a level that even the most demanding jobs could implement. Look even outdoor jobs be it landscaping, large residential or commercial civil engineering could easily be performed with battery powered tools. But I see the battery/tool management portion would be the next big thing. Technologies like one key by Milwaukee will propel tools to the levels hard to imagine. Please let me know what you think about the software side of the power tool management and operation. Will Milwaukee advance is one key with AI algorithms and well other companies follow?
