Exactly😎, As soon as he said that I knew I had arrived at the right place. I have a 93 ZJ and it looks like the hood , (( splotchy gray With clear coat peeling off )) And there is some rust on the roof. It definitely looks like the poor stepchild from a bad neighborhood, but the interior is super nice and I keep the mechanical aspects of it as perfect as I can, I love driving it and at this point it's become an addiction. I owe it to the old girl to at least make it more appealing to the eye,, I actually like that green color, or even maybe some fighter jet gray would look nice.

If your factory non painted plastic trim looks like crap, you can paint it with rustoleum truck bed coating. Prepping it is key. Make sure you clean it thoroughly with PPG wax & grease remover. I know a guy who painted his trim with that stuff about 3yrs ago and it's still holding up pretty well. They sell plastic bumper paint also. I've never used it, so idk how good it is? I cleaned my trim up with Maguire's interior in the spray bottle. It looks pretty good, almost brand new.

The rear wheels look to be touching the fender wells... any plans to put it a bit higher, or cutting out the excess?
@LowBuckGarage3 жыл бұрын
There's a little bit of clearance, close to an inch. With these rear suspensions, the tire moves backward as the spring compresses, so it actually fits better when you hit bumps. So far its worked out ok, but if it hits I'll just get out the sawzall and make more room...

Its called a "Savonius Rotor", basically a low speed windmill. I built it about 10 years ago to try to pump water out of an old well, but there were too many leaks to work right. Now it just shows how fast the wind is going, until I find a new use for it...

hi just wondering your lift and tire size
@LowBuckGarage Жыл бұрын
I think the lift is about 2-3". Its pieced together, not from any particular manufacturer. Tires are 285/75R16. They rub on full lock in the front, even with spacers, and are really close to the fender edge in the rear. Not ideal, but they work.

There's a few different people that make it, the color is "Marine Forest Green flat 34052". The number at the end is a standard US color code, so any military paint with that 34052 should be the same color. I bought it off ebay, but military vehicle restoration places sell it.

Thanks! Those are 285/75R16 Hankook Dynapro's on factory 16" ZJ wheels. I also added a spacer (I think it was 1.25 or 1.5") to keep them from rubbing when turning all the way. One other note, these were used tires, and they're really close to the front edge of the rear wheel well. If they were new and had taller tread, I don't know if they would still clear. Might take a bit of hammering on the edge then.
