Here's what worked well about 95% of the time but there's still some minor slowdowns once in a while: Resolution 1x. Hardware Download Mode: Unsynchronized. Threaded Presentation: Enabled. DRagon quest 8 alot of people think its the greatest game ever made i agree nothing even today comes close too bad its not smooth even with a rp3+ some people get it to play 99% smooth but have no idea what settings they used

So I tested out Crimson Tears as my first PS2 game bc of the "Super Smooth" playability, man I don't know how you're able to get it play like that. Whenever there are other characters on the screen, my framerate drops significantly to around 25-30fps. I even tried the PAL version and am getting the same results. Tried a bunch of tweaking other settings and still same thing. I'm confused how you're able to get such a good frame rate with default settings because so far mine isn't doing so well. I will test with some other games, but now I'm thinking the PS2 emulation on this device is going to be pretty poor.

I've also had poor PS2 emulation on this device across the board. Nothing I've tried has been what I would consider "smooth". Not sure what we're doing wrong lol.

Shin megami 3 runs perfect on my rg405m, its the pal version (Lucifer’s call). Also Okami, contra shattered soldier, alien hominid, y’s naphitism, ffx runs close to perfect. I only use PAL games running at 50hz

This device is pretty great for 2D and 2.5D games. But it's not that great for 3D games. The biggest issue is the ergonomics. They should put the joysticks at the top, have some better shoulder buttons (add more) and move to a Standard (16:9) display. That way at least game streaming wouldn't be so bad.

@@frankc8689 I guess that's the problem, there really isn't anything. The Retroid Pocket 3+ is a marked improvement with its screen, and it's (barely) in the pocketable category. But it too favours 2.5D ergonomics, the chipset isn't powerful enough, and the sealed battery (unlike Miyoo Mini v1) means it's practical battery life isn't better than good/average. There's the hacked PS Vita Slim, it's tad easier in the pocket, and the ergonomics are similar/slightly worse. The performance or capabilities are also similar/slightly worse. With again having a sealed unit meaning similar/slightly worse battery life. Overall it's good but only on-par with the Mediocre Retroid Pocket 3 and definitely worse than the Retroid Pocket 3+. I guess the only option that is technically better is the X. That's when you combine carrying your phone in one pocket, and the controller in the other pocket. Making it equal to the pocketability as the solutions mentioned above. The ONLY controller or option that meets that limitation is the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and the Razer JungleCat controllers. The S10+ barely has any official support from Samsung, but if your variant is able, it CAN be unlocked, hacked, modded with Custom ROMs to be pretty decent with its older QSD 855 chipset. The Razer JungleCat meanwhile has a GREAT design and ergonomics for 3D gaming. However it's D-Pad is atrocious, the Action Buttons are meh, the Joysticks are okay, and the shoulder buttons are great. Overall still a better experience than anything out there, but requires a lot of setup, being clunky, and has the absolute WORST battery life than anything mentioned above. Having a sealed battery makes the S10+ battery problem unsolvable, but the only phone that solves this is the obscure Samsung xCover 6 Pro... which sadly doesn't fit the JungleCat controllers. Maybe custom/home-3D print some case for it? But at that point you could potentially do that for any phone, from the iPhone 15 Max or Sony Xperia 1 mk V, and maybe get some custom Nintendo Switch JoyCons to fit on it instead. The ideal solution would be to get the AYN Odin2, and shrink it down from a portable size into a pocketable size. Because while the AYN Odin2 is decent for most people, still most people would skip it to pickup something more capable like the Valve SteamDeck or even better the ASUS RoG Ally.

@@CHICKENmcNUGGIESMydude don't lie you can't emulate PS3 on any phone in the world. you need at least x86 system with steam deck level performance to run PS3 games. And the 2S is considered dedicated gaming handheld with buttons thus is easily pocketable. unlike an ugly abomination of a phone with a controller hooked up to it.
