No one's named like that in Splatoon, even people like Jelonzo, while his name definitely references how he's a Jellyfish, still have unique names that aren't just their species.

You have to fact check guys. Callie and Marie are cuttlefish because their grandfather is captain CUTTLEFISH, and he says he needs to rest his CUTTLEBONE. And also Inklings and Octolings die to water because it has carbon dioxide in it.

And there are official renders of Callie and Marie’s squid forms. The concept of them being cuddlefish is a fan theory that can easily be disproven

About Octavio never taking on his humanoid from, my head canon is that the X shaped scar on his tentacles indicates an injury that renders him unable to transform. Though Octavio already has plenty of reasons to hate Cuttlefish, it would make sense that Cuttlefish gave him such an injury during the great turf war.

I didn't know 7, 13, 18, 47 (because I wasn't analyzing the trailer, yet), and 49. It would be nice to mention however: 1. The reason we know/think they're cousins is because Marie's kimono has the Kensaki crest on it, as seen in one of the art books. 4. It's also worth noting that her Japanese name, Hime, means Princess, which could be why her screenname in Octo Expansion is MC Princess. 4.5. Marina's screenname in Japanese is DJ E-DA, which sounds like Ida, her last name. 11. I believe this was confirmed, and they also definetly eat Salmonid meat. 27. This makes sense considering just how many people there are on Earth. 28. This is a fact I don't hear many people talking about, surprisingly. Also worth mentioning is that Mount Nantai is a real place in Japan. Side note: I saw a picture somewhere in either Splatoon 2 or one of the artbooks that had a map of Inkopolis (I think) which appeared to be Hokkaido, which is very far from Mount Nantai, which leads me to believe the rising sea levels brought Hokkaido closer to Mount Nantai. 33. Turf Wars too. 34. I'm surprised more people don't know this. 45. Interestingly, the Splatfest where Pearl breaks her crown was Japan only, being Inner Wear vs Outer Wear, while the Splatfest where it can be first seen as broken is Sweater vs Socks, which was only in NA and Oceania. Sorry Europe. (Note: The start times for the Splatfests put Europe 9 hours after Japan, and Pearl's crown isn't broken in the artwork for that Splatfest, being Film vs Book.) 50. I think eternal life might have only been achieved by The Professor, the guy who owned Judd and created Tartar, and he kept it secret because humans had been the reason the world was going to be destroyed, and he wanted a better lifeform to rule over Earth instead of humans, hence why Tartar wanted to find/make the ultimate lifeform.
