Eileen is a natural actress: in the park, at home or in conversation, her actions and face expressions fit the sentence. In your videos we get five inputs at once: hanzi, pinyin, natural English, spoken hanyu, and expressions (which are part of language). At my level I need all 5. Eileen's acting makes it all "comprehensible input", which experts say is the best way to learn.

This is my favorite teacher! She is so well educated that this has been an inspiration to me. Educating myself has brought me a lot of happiness and peace of mind in my personal life. A few years ago when I accidentally discovered Mandarin Corner I gave up many other useless things that were wasting my time needlessly, like video games and hanging out after work. Suddenly I started finding myself going straight home with a purpose in life. After I recently finished studying ‘American Talks About His Life In China’ I’’m now more focused on ‘42 Essential Sentence Patterns’ and ‘28 Resultative Verb Endings’ so I can better prepare for some of the more challenging videos here.

From this concise video, I learned new expressions like 要你管,给我问住了,人无完人嘛,不怎么样。Btw, I like the presenter’s earnestness.

*TOO FAST?* Control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video *5% at a time* on *desktop computers and laptops* OR *25% at a time* on *smartphones!* Access the playback speed controls as follows: *Desktop Computers and Laptops:* open the video, then go to the *lower right* of the video's screen and click on the *settings icon* (it looks like a GEAR). On the upper right of the options window that comes up, you will see the link *"custom".* Click on the "custom" link to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 5% at a time. *Smartphones:* open the video and go to the *upper right* of the video's screen. You will see *3 dots.* Click on them and you will see the link to open the *"playback speed"* controls. Click on this link and you will be able to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 25% at a time. Note that viewing the video on desktop computer/laptops gives you *greater control* over the playback speed (5% vs 25% on smartphones).
