Hehehehehehehe...that last comment on the half volley DTL backhand in the 2017 Miami final against Nadal never fails to crack me up. I mean, Roger's playing his "great rival" and at the time Nadal had 14 Slams to Roger's 18 and and the commentator says, "This is just stunning. You felt as though Nadal was just getting to grips with the rally...and he throws down one of those! Thanks for coming!" LOL! Listen, Slam titles don't matter to me at this point. Roger's the GOAT. Not only does he play sublime, ridiculous tennis, but there have been maches when he has outright shellacked Nadal and Djokovic. I can only come up with 1 time Nadal did that to Roger - on clay at RG in 2008 - and zero times Djokovic has done it. And Roger did it all with the "liability" of his "inferior" one-handed backhand. "Take a bow, Mr. Federer."

Wimbledon 2003 final vs Phillopoussis (spelling?): A perfectly good backhand approach to Fed's backhand and, instead of being pinned to the baseline for a groundie, he takes it early with a one-handed backhand drive volley! I had never seen one like that before. I knew then he was going to be something very special...

The point at 0:28 is just a reminder of how good Andy was at that age . Honestly his forehand had gotten worse and worse as his career went on ,I never get it. He used to be the hardest hitter on tour but then his forehand down graded to WTA level’s speed, and I am talking about pre apocalypse Murray. After 2013 I feel like he was never the same, even tho he only became No.1 in 2016. I always think that if Murray had tried to punch more instead of being a passive counter-puncher he will accomplish much more. His attacking game at somewhere around 2007~2008 was probably his best ,although his absolute prime is definitely around 2010~2013 ,just that his tactics wasn’t as good or as blunt against the big three

The backhands weren’t so great but it demonstrated what would happen if not properly recovered position in time. These strokes were executed precisely and professionally. Most importantly they weren’t executed under much pressure. But the choice of shots and ability of execution build up each winner.

I admire and love that in Europe you are allowed to develop the one hand backhand. Unfortunately here in AUSTRALIA and USA if you decide to have a one hand backhand you are treated as if you had the plague and ignored. Its a beautiful shot and i think even more useful than a two hander. (Either two or one hand is just down to the individuals natural preference)

Apart from the backhand winners That one he hit vs blake right after the forehand drive volley off the baseline is crazy I mean how did he think of it and then executed it following it with a bh winner. That's crazy to think of and crazier to get it done,I mean Federer is the goat of shot making but I need an interview for him where he says how he can do all that stuff , why there wasn't any shot he can't execute and when he learnt all that? Ppl who say that are the biggest fools... We can safely assume that, no one hander player will ever achieve like roger in coming years... Imagine rafa and novak with one handed BH😂... @@hello-mv6yg but players like novak and especially rafa have made extremely difficult for the single handers to consistently be on top of the rally over 5 gruelling sets... The margin for error is more for a single hander... Single handers can't thrive on slow courts and this is where players like rafa and novak capitalize....Roger struggled against rafa in outdoor hard courts but while playing in indoors he took his backhand early and dominated the rallies..Sadly 95% of courts on tour play very slowly and we can safely assume that no one hander can beat rafa in RG
