I had one of these years ago. The discharge chute was metal and stuck out a long way. The chute made a great leveling device. Used it like a road grader to push dirt around and level out my lawn.

Check the cylinder leakdown to check rings, valves, and head gasket. Change the oil and filter. Tune the engine. Replace the blade. Check the deck for rust. Check valve adjustment. If low, it could be the valve seat come loose. Replace the head.

MRS Cooke the be that lives down the street from me in Elmira NY always gas to have her lawn mower every 3 days she is the widow of the founder of Cooke painting. She believes if she waits 7 to 9 days between mowings it will cause her riding lawn mower to break down. I don't know much about small engine repair but 7 to 9 days between mowings won't cause her riding lawn mower to break down they were designed to mow grass that is 7 to 9 days of growth. these came standard with an 8hp briggs on all models. If you have one with a Kawi it was put on there or it's very rare!

Don't use carb clean don't use starting fluid if they sit wrong everything will rot use brake clean

You shouldn’t start things with full throttle. That’s probably why you flooded it. I always go full choke half throttle.

I got the exact same model mower on CL for $50! It didn't have the deck but it did have working steering and it did run. I use it just to ride around on, cool little mower.
