Another eye brightener is Lumify eye drops. My optometrist recommended it for me. Works wonderfully. I would like to hear more about blending your foundation into your neck and chest. Not sure how to do that. Especially living in Florida and tanning.

Life after 50 is great. No more killer periods (I missed at least one day of work because of them every month) or birth control! No more mood swings or crying during kitten commercials (me with PMS). The down side: hot flashes.

Yes, I agree that life after 50 has a lot to offer. However, the menopause affects us all in different ways - some find that mood swings are inevitable, which is not easy, but overall, the lack of periods and the pain involved is definitely a positive thing! XX

Matching bottoms & tops are very on trend here in australia for summer..but the patterned matching sets can overpower i just found a linen blend shorts & waist length crop top linen set white with a small black pattern of palm trees & text that I stained with tea because white is way too harsh for me

You’re so right about dressing our body shape. Every single time I shop outside of my shape it ends up being a bit of a disaster. And isn’t it wonderful that high rise is back! I think I’m a pear with thick legs, so wide leg trousers/jeans are my absolute go-to.

Great tip with the nude eyeliner, and the facemasks. My eyes are small and hooded (sounds terrible ;-) ) so I tend to use a brown eyeshadow above /in the crease to bring my brown eyes forward. When learning to do my makeup for my wedding, I was initially trying KZbin tutorials & even paid for a session w/ a MAC counter consultant for my monolid Asian eyes. I never received recommendations that made my eyes look better than without makeup. Learned on my own that how you apply any piece of makeup depends on each face feature’s shape. For my eyes, I use a matte eyeshadow in medium darkness to recede my orbital bone, which brings my eyes forward. I shadow my upper eyelid in a light shimmery color to bring it forward. I line my top eyelid in a dark color as thinly as possible, then line my inner eye & bottom eyelid thinly in either white or nude. Then I don’t curl my eyelashes until after mascara is placed, as it “permanent presses” the mascara into a curl for the night. (Asian lashes are short and stubbornly straight- basically parallel to the ground.)

Love your tips Deirdre. I have a Charlotte Tilbury double ended pencil with nude at one end and soft brown at the other, which is really useful for the waterline and tightlining the eye. Makes a huge difference.

Yes, I think wedges are a little out now, although they are definitely comfortable. I think it depends if they look on trend or not. If they have more of a pointed toe, they will look more modern. XX

I liked the suggestion of the nude eye liner. I also use Bausch & Lomb "LUMIFY" which whitens the whites of your eyes. It also makes a big difference in your eye's appearance.

I think I'm a former apple with a touch of hourglass who has transitioned to a rectangle in my mid 60's. My torso is much shorter than yours, but I have the large bust, too. Perhaps you could comment on how to elongate the torso sometime. thanks for the tips.
