@@aquasnippy yes actually. A (white) actor took a popular tune at the time (like all music before like the 60s) and then gave it lyrics and released the tacist song. It became popular on the radio and at the time ice cream parlours were a big thing. However due to the rise of suburbs etc people weren't coming to the parlours as much, so then they had this great idea to bring the parlour to homes. How would people know and trust that it was their beloved ice cream? By playing a nationally trendy song from the vehicle to bring the good ol' feel of the ice cream parlour. And that's how ice cream trucks started and why they play the song, look it up. Literally no other food truck plays music as they drive for a reason (because they aren't trying to trigger nostalgia or anything not saying they can't just play music if they want to).

Reaction times suck at our age. Yep, I'm up there too. That said, you can "easily" get to silver and beyond on Zarya if you work on some basics. 1) When trying to farm charge (not just trying to save a teammate), you need to use friendly bubble on your aggro'd teammate -- when they're actually taking damage or when they're in deeper and can't be ignored. Don't waste a bubble when you think they 'might' take damage. 2) Wait to use your personal bubble when the other team can't help but hit you or when you're going in for a kill. 3) Don't play too far from cover of some sort. When your bubble is on cooldown, play safe (i.e. play around corners or some other cover). When you have bubble and charge, then you play aggressive step in out into traffic and kill the out-of-position squishies. 4) In low ELO, most everyone is out of position. You need to have an escape plan if there are enough enemies or the right kind of enemies alive to kill you. No matter the character, in general, play from cover-to-cover rather than walking a direct path to the objective. 5) Also, learn to check behind you. You walk straight forward like a bot. You can save a life with bubble and get a kill. Just make sure to tell your main tank you're peeling so they won't try to solo 5 people on the other team. I could go on, but this is enough. Get better at one thing at a time.

Getting out of bronze, a quick guide: Long range dps and off tank: left click and don't go in front of the main tank. Healer: Avoid danger and heal. Main tank: Don't run but stay in front. Flanker: Use the health packs and use abilities to escape. You don't even need the ults and barely need the abilities to make it to silver (those are bonuses). Keep it simple.

I have climbed from Silver to near Diamond on Zarya and the way I climbed from the lower ranks is to play Zar more like a support. At lower ranks, when your DPS push ahead of tanks or Brig tries to 1v1 a DPS, just hanging back a bit more and bubbling them to save them (even though it teaches them bad habits) helps you win much much more.

in bronze a rein charging into a backline actually works because the enemy bronze team don't all turn around to kill him like they do in higher ranks. in bronze players like to stand at the choke forever, a charging rein into the backline allows the rest of the attacking team to feel safe enough to move forward past the choke, something which is not a problem at higher ranks. it just shows you that there are things that work at high levels but don't work at low ranks and vica versa.

Yup, depends on where you charge. A Rein charge into the bell or anywhere else in the capture point where Rein can break sight with the defending team is disruptive. They have to abandon the choke and come chase you down. Of course, that's if you don't get hooked or slept along the way...

As an offtank, it's his job to take care of flankers and protect the backline, that would also free Junkrat to spam enemy's frontline and be more effective. Instead, Junk is doing an offtank's job and Zarya is doing DPS job.

I've easily won games at 2700 a couple of years back, but currently sub 1500 (1480 after last win I think). I think I've not been adding as much value as other tank players. But I've adapted and was on 82% wr with aggro Rein and climbing, last I played.

I feel like it’s crazy when I see such high leveled players in low ranks, but I guess it makes sense because when you make a mistake and win a fight you never learn from your mistakes because your never being punished. I think a good practice is to play with high ranked players in stuff like scrims because you are constantly being punished and you learn quickly what to do and not do.

I never made Bronze, but in my Silver games, I just found someone on my teams to stick with. Wherever they went, I went with them. It really helped. Because we didn't die nearly as much. Solo queue makes you adjust to different styles.

I'm over 50 (PS4 player), was stuck in bronze for a couple of years, then LFG happened, started to one trick Orisa and I started to climb out of bronze and even touched gold rank a couple of times. So it is possible to climb out of bronze but does take time and one tricking a hero, unfortunately. I'm currently high silver but with the recent Orisa nerfs (especially halt) I could be slowly heading back down to bronze. Perhaps I need to change to a new main tank...Rein...Winston..not much choice is there for main tank players?

I think a good thing for this player to work on would be positioning, being aggressive when bubbles are up and the Rein has enough shield and then being in a position to get into cover when bubbles are gone and the shield breaks, at the start the positioning was too passive so the Rein got overwhelmed and then in other instances the positioning was too aggressive so they got caught out of position, such as the grav attempt. In terms of the flankers in this game, it wasn't an easy situation to deal with, a Zarya's not going to be able to 1v2 both flankers especially when one is a smurf but they could have tried to shepherd the supports to the point first then move in to support the Rein when the fight begins.

"You can't win a 1v6 fight" "If you get better, you will win more games and climb out of bronze." I'm not sure if Sty really understands the full extend of the pit we are stuck in. I've been complimented by players with much higher SR than I. If I were able to play with gold players every day, I wouldn't learn bad habits. If I weren't playing with players whom quit early, players whom make just as many mistakes as I, or more, players whom play comp for fun, and will not switch, adapt or listen, I'd be able to climb. I've been able to keep up with silver players before; I've even been able to keep up with Gold players before, and have been complimented by these players in bronze, silver and gold very highly. I'm not saying I can't get to a point where my skill alone raises me out of bronze, but it's much easier and so much funner to play gold than it is bronze. I understand his mentality - that focusing on the other players is validating myself and keeping me from improving myself, but when he says "yeah sure there's always going to be games where you lose because of your team," that's something I struggle with almost every single game. It's always such a desperate and exhausting struggle that it's not even remotely fun. I'm sure all of us feel like this, that's why there's so many leavers, and so many whom don't care enough to play tank or support to win. Maybe I just need to learn to enjoy carrying, because it's almost always a miserable agony, a slow death. It's like making it out of the desert so dehydrated that you can't appreciate living afterwards. If I can learn to thrive in that feeling and have self-esteem and confidence, I'm sure I'd grow on my own.

I used to blame my team in OW1 of my losses, because I also watch a lot of OW content and wanted bronze players play at that level. But at the end of OW1 and 1st season of OW2 I started focusing on myself and it paid off. If u want to rank up it is better to focus on yourself, in your decision making, your game sense, and skills, and because of your better playing u will start winning more often, being more consistent. Players in higher ranks are not just better teammates because the know what they have to do, they are better teammates because they have put the time to improve themselves, and in that path of self improvement is where you learn to play as a team: then you'll realize that u had to improve yourself in order to contribute as much value as you can for your team. I even went from Silver to Plat (first time in plat) in 2 months.

I play with fairly frequent minor fps drops (that go below 60 fps) but also more infrequent stuttering and freezes and i'm in gold. I also feel like me running the game on low/mid settings makes it harder for me to see what's going on reducing my awareness. I stopped playing anyway cause it's annoying not knowing whether it's hardware issues stopping me getting better or whether it's just skill and understanding of the game. I just stick to paladins lol where I'm diamond 😅

Often when playing with a team that'll consistently throw itself into the enemy's fire and die, there's a temptation to solo a mad flank. I've felt it, I've don it, it doesn't work. The only thing you can do is stay with your team, try to keep them alive and plead with them to stop killing themselves. You can't solo-carry in Overwatch.

I would say focus hard on reducing your mistakes and punish the easy ones the enemy makes (eg that Reaper like Sty pointed out). Also don’t rush solo to the point. If the enemy is attacking your back line they are too distracted to follow you so kill the threat than move on.

gotta use the left click much more, based on the first few minutes. spamming right click into the barrier while on low energy is very inefficient. with the zarya nerf from yesterday ( only 4 right clicks per clip) this is even more so the case. Don't be afraid to use those first 2 bubbles to get your charge up. especially when playing with a reinhardt. then just start melting them with the beam as they wait in choke :) Good luck with your Goal, you can definitely get there!

get a new mouse and a new mousepad, use the recommended DPI and sensitivity and download Aimlab on steam, it’s free and actually teach you how to flick shots

I've been playing since beta as well. It's interesting to see his gameplay. (Interesting that he wanted to say he was 50 I guess. XD) As far as retreating goes, you have to keep something in mind. So long as the objective isn't 1/2 taken at objective A from spawn, it's worth coming back.

A trick for bronze players, play with a friend whos gold or above and even if you die a lot, eventually you'll become a LOT better at the game

Good luck...it can work, did the same some time ago, managed to enter high silver, climbed up to mid gold, stayed there a couple of seasons, then gave up on it when I started to drop again. At my age (50ish like the guy on the video) it becomes a chore and I just want to chill after work :-/

You should nerf Moira’s fade back to normal (withought being able to escape grav or flux ultimates),but when she fades a couple(2) teammates she fades through get faded and can travel just like Moira for maybe a shorter distance then she can, but it would be great mobility for hero’s that need it. Let me know what you think.

I'm 42 and I have 2 overwatch accounts. I have not really cared about competitive since season 16 but I have a weird story. one account is stuck at around 2900 and that account is the one where I care about getting all the skins and emotes and blah blah. Now the other account is one that I used mostly for competitive ONLY and the highest I ever hit was 3960! Over 1k difference and I'm not doing anything different.
