As a 76 year old Vietnam Veteran, this man is very fortunate, as we all are who survived that war!!!

My cousin survived the war but lost an arm and was in a body cast for 2 years. (Grenade that also killed 2 of his buddies) He ended up dying from kidney failure at age 58. He had been on dialyses for over 10 years when he died, that was 15 years ago, His kidney issues were related to the meds he had to take for his injuries. So, the war still killed him but 35 years later.

@@pontoja I’m very sorry about that, especially if you want to have your own birth children, sending you healing vibes and wish you well. I would weigh up what is more important (if your life is at risk). Because adoption I know it’s not the same, but I have loved children of an ex of mine like they were my own. my Niece has polycystic ovaries, they lost their 1st baby, and then it took 2yrs on IVF to become pregnant with my Grand Nephew, and then they had 3 Girls naturally. But she has had the highest type of abnormal cells on her cervix since she was 21, so she chose to have a hysterectomy at 34, as they were all caesarean births due to her firstborn getting stuck in the birth canal, so they said she couldn’t have anymore kid’s because the uterine scar tissue wouldn’t hold up with another pregnancy, though they were happy with 4 kid’s. She also has Crohn’s disease an autoimmune disease, I had my Thyroid out due to it being covered in tumours, even though they thought 3 areas were possibly cancerous, but luckily for me they weren’t. Love to hear about her mother. Gary and her mother were obviously close if the daughter knew enough to track him down, her mother knew who the father was. In times of war people seek out the comfort of others even if it's only for a short time, and that short time personal connection with someone means everything to you during that time. Whether it's sexually intimate, or local who you became friends with, etc. Something outside of the stress of being on duty. I'm glad her parents found each other to get through that difficult time. That's another chapter in this story I'd like to hear. Congratulations to these two. Somehow I think finding out about these things later in life makes them that much sweeter because you're both at a maturity level that creates a stronger bond more immediately.

Not new. It's babies all trough out these wars that's left behind. US military will cover if needed. But mostly will care for that child if made aware. But mostly those women sometimes have more than one soldier so they keep it secret because they don't know who's dead. It's so sad. I have q coworker that grandma would offer her 17yr old daughter to soldiers for "Dinner Date" . It's a third world country in some places, those people are desperate and will do anything to survive. Boys have been used also. My grandmother was stationed in Philippine back then as a nurse and she had some stories to tell. Soldiers getting tons of sexual diseases, taking it back to the states. Syphilis was huge!!

jailyn Tomitis fathering kids with the enemy has always been a war strategy. It helps cause division among the locals. In Australia it was done to the natives.
