Great review. I just bought these to do mixing and mastering in my house. I was in the air about wether to get closed back or open back because I’ve only used closed back my whole life. But everyone is saying that open back is the way to go if your trying to mix and master but I always felt I wasn’t feeling the music as much. I had the Audeze LCD X and I returned them because they were super heavy and I just wasn’t use to that open back sound so I returned them. I hope these will be better.

I second what another guy said your mic quality is super nice and I watch a LOT of audio videos lol. I want to try 1990's for sure.. what you said about turning up the volume makes me a little worried though. I have DT 770 pro and they distort much earlier than I expect it's kind of crazy. I have Edition XS and those can just eat power and never distort but the bass hit is really just never there for me. Also I don't like how far vocals sound and the comfort is not near my DT 770 which I can wear all day and never think about them.

I paired it with realphones by dsoniq and damn, this combo sounds crazy good! Straight to the audio interface btw, without an amplifier

I like the balance pads more and specially with a sound calibration software like Sound ID to make them more flat . The clamping is a little tight and hoping they get better after more use. Also know your equipment ohms before buying to get the full benefits from this 250ohms . I have an Apollo twin x which is 300ohms jack . So if your interface is not that powerful then get a headphone amp .
