500 Mile TESLA Model Y Road Trip - Vegas to California

We took our Model Y over 500 miles from Las Vegas to San Luis Obispo for the Tesla Takeover event. We also took both of the boys with us for our first road trip all together as a family. So come along, and hope you enjoy!
Our first road trip with the whole family was a memorable one. Yes, the dogs did slow us down quite a bit, but maybe that’s the point. We were able to take our time and enjoy places we normally wouldn’t have.

I asked and I received. Another great RT vid but with the added flare of burning Lithium truck. I've driven between Vegas and Diego so many times and it has never been shut down. Knock on wood, got another trip planned this weekend.

We taught them as puppies with a command word “potty” so whenever we say, “Let’s go potty” they automatically know why we are at a certain place. It doesn’t matter where we are…dirt, concrete, grass, etc. all they know is that word means you have permission to go here.

I got my rotty 8 years ago when I was in Texas, when I drove back to Vegas I had same issue as you do she won't do her business at any strange places, but I found a way out just simply run with her a little bit, then she will go ahead release the problem and it's working everytime. You might want to try it, hope will solve your issue.

Love your channel. I am in the market for Tesla model 3 about to purchase soon. But I had range anxiety watching your video! Lol I have rented Tesla’s but only once let the battery get to 19%!!!! If I was in that southbound lane with the stopped traffic and fire - I don’t know what I would have done. Yikes!!! I guess /hope when it’s “your” Tesla you get to know battery levels!! Keep up the great videos! Plus I am in Florida and the scenery was nice to see - thanks!!!

Thank you! The new model 3 is sweet! Once you get a few long drives in and get a feel for how accurate the predicted battery % is, range anxiety will quickly go away!

@@vegasteslafamily btw, regarding your dogs peeing, I started telling my dog “hurry up”. Every time he went out at night and it was cold or rainy. As soon as he peed I’d say good boy. Over time he figured it out that hurry up meant to pee and stop sniffing around.

id suggest taking long walks with your dogs on leash making them thirsty, and bring a gallon jug of water or a lot and give them water ever 10-20 mins during an hour long walk and if they dont go pee on leash then keep walking lmao idk thats my tip.... sometimes it takes my dog 45mins to an hour on walks to go to the bathroom..... but dont leave immediatly after the potty cause then it might show signs to the dog in my eyes that your walking until they go to the bathroom..... could be a good or a bad thing.... they could walk more or less depnding on how they percieve it.... also im not a dog trainer i just have two dogs and mine arent crazy behaved or anything special ..... but ive p[ersoanlly never had a dog not go to the bathroom due to a leash

My wife says to regularly walk the dogs around your neighborhood on a leash to get them used to pottying on the go.

We take them on runs a few times a week! And a hike every so often. Even then they only go in the backyard! But will try to soend more time with them outside the backyard until they absolutely HAVE to go then hopefully they know they can go on a leash

She said to train them with a potty cue like “go potty” and when they do go to the bathroom, give them a treat. Slow down your walks because they probably feel rushed. Also maybe try having them on the leash in your backyard if the leash is the issue.

2023 long range model Y!

The 4680 model Y was AWD. The RWD has the regular long range battery pack, software limited. At least the current 2023 model ( which I have). They now only make the RWD as the Long Range RWD, which has the same pack as the AWD Long Range. They offer a range boost to unlock the standard range RWD. I bought it and it's totally worth it.
