The Eovan may have a bit more low down power than the hurricane, but the hurricane still wins on that mid range and top end. Great boards though. Definitely something wrong with your hurricane, the hurricane is one of the most powerful aggressive boards I’ve been on. The only thing more aggressive is the Hadean from low down. I’d send your one back to meepo. You didn’t get one with the awful 300wh battery did you?

so i have the Miles Sex Panther direct drive. That’s my main eboard. Not gonna lie, the stats on it are a bit outdated considering all the new boards that have come out since i preordered my board. But its still doing great after 700+miles. I’ve had the stock bearings on it for the longest time until like a month ago, I decided to swap them out for my bones reds ceramics that i had on my regular skateboard, and i was surprised how much of a difference it made. I saw the video you made on the mamba bearings and my bones reds are exactly the same. But i also expect that considering they were like $80+ bearings when i first bought them. Honestly bearings are an amazing and very underrated mod that everyone should do to their boards. Makes a massive difference when it comes cruising.
@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
Dude, I could not agree with you more. Interesting how the smallest of components can make one of the greatest changes. I still have some popsicle boards with Bones in them. While I know ceramic are better than steel for many reasons, I just can’t get out of my head the potential of them breaking down at about thirty MPH. Which we all know is not good. So, I am still on the steel bearing train. I also understand the $80+ cost. I have just leaned over the years that I don’t need to spend that to get quality. Not dissing you man…just my reflection. I raced motocross for many years…the first thing we did when buying a new bike was to send off the suspension for tuning. Same with my boards…the first thing I do is swap out the stock bearings. Second, is to swap out the bushings. So, I get and agree with your comment. As to the Panther, that is a pretty decent board. It is not all about specs…even though it seems to be focusing on that more and more these days. First you are on a board that can reach 30 MPH with your hair on fire and having a blast. THAT is all the matters right now is having a blast. Nothing brings a bigger smile to me than being on a board (skate or snow). Thanks for the view and comment. Remember, ride hard…carve safe…and have a great day.
@Ec8625ec2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8ooligan Yea man i totally agree with you, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get quality anything. Me I just had them on my regular board for the longest time and i was just curious after seeing your vid on the mamba bearings. But yea im probably gonna invest in some new bushings and steel bearings soon. But yea man i love my sex panther, its a carving machine, and although it may not have the crazy acceleration that the boards nowadays have, it’s got a great top speed. With the 120 mm cloud wheels i managed to get up to 32 mph, but on dual kingpins its a bit sketchy. I prefer to ride in the low 20 mph range anyways, its fast but not too fast were i have to be on my toes for the bumps on the streets that i have. I do wanna invest on another board by the end of the year, just to give my sex panther a break here or there. Personally i love direct drive for the low maintenance like hubs, but with the comfort of having actual full wheels in the back. But this time i might just have to get that ownboard man, it looks really clean and everyone has nothing bad to say about it. Im gonna wait till the end of the year when they give out black friday deals tho lol. Anyways man, great videos and very informative. Keep up the awesome job.

Hey Dude!! Congrats on the purchase. I believe you will really like the board. Hardest part is waiting for it to get here. Those are the same trucks as on the OG version (which I have right now), so yes, the Black Mamba bearings will work just fine. I think you will like those too. Also, as a word of advice, pick up a set of hub bearings (two of them) in case you roach a hub bearing. On Amazon, those will run you whole $2.00 each. If you roach a hub bearing, there will be no riding until you get one. Trust me, I did that. I now keep extra hub bearings for all my boards. Update us all on the new board when it arrives. Thanks for the view and the comment.

@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
@@dssranger278 Hey Dude, that kind of depends upon the hub manufacturer. For example, I run the 5M-44T Cloudwheel hubs on the Zeus. Those hubs take a 10mm axle race while the bearing is 26mm x 8mm. What I would do if I were you is...when you get the board, pull the rear wheels and pop out the hub bearing. Measure it and then order a set of hub bearings. I am at the point right now that I replace my hub bearings each riding season...or sooner if I roach one. Here is what I bought off Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B07FF27FXF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I have different sizes for the different boards and hubs. Like I said, I roached a hub bearing at the beginning of the season, and the board sat until I got these in. So far, they have worked really well. Hope this helps. Ride hard, carve safe, and have a great day!!

⚡ *Great to see another video from you* ⚡ Glad to hear your shoulder is improvin, lovin the sneakers on show! 🤙🏼🤙🏼 I wear Supra skate shoes for walkin And ridin, the vulc sole feels so comfy and gives good board feel, cup sole is better suited to manual street skatin. Zealous are my go to bearings now, lasts a long time without maintainance. Great topic for a video man, how boards wear is a huge factor that isn't talked about much.

Hey Dude...I have heard of those, but weren't they discontinued in 2020 or do I have my info crossed? I am always looking at other skate brands, so am always interested in other rider's views. Sometimes people get caught up in the marketing (DC, VANS, etc.), when we need to look at the quality. Interested in your thoughts and view point. Hope to hear back.
@eBoard3R2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8ooligan Yeah sadly Supra officially died in 2020 or so but tbh it slowly started dyin a few years ago. I hunt down older Supras and the odd good ones they made before they fell off. eBay and Amazon still has a few for good prices, check a pair out, I recommended them to Daniel Kwan and you can see him rockin a couple of pairs a few videos back. I hear a lot of good things about DC shoes, Vans have a few different lines, try their "pro" (skate not fashion) line and their comfy cush line. I would recommend pickin stuff up when on sale in case you dont like them. I love vulcanised soles for eskate, comfy and great feel dude, some skate shoes are cup sole, not as comfy but more durable for those who thrash around a kick push trick board.

@@eBoard3R That is what I thought, but I have been wrong before. Right now I have 73 pairs of skate shoes...that is what I meant when I said, You have no idea..." in the video. I'll have to see if I can find a pair of Supras. I am still partial to the Globes though. I did 68 miles on the boards on 7/4/2022...all in Globes. I was only able to ride my hurricane once before the charger gave out. I have a meepo mini as well and after it’s first charge the charger trickle charges and takes all night to charge. Can I buy compatible chargers for each? Instead of waiting for shipping from china. By then my riding season will b over.
@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
As long as you have the right connector, polarity, and output, you should be fine. I would get them to send you a new charger though if it is under warranty. Once charge and all night charging is not right.

Mann,, tx for your videos, they real great! Hey question, i am waiting for my zeus pro to arrive and i am new to the game of e-skate. it's going to be my daily commute , all weather, all year around. i already order other bearing . What about the batterie: Is it better to run it flat and then recharge or should i recharge everyday? work/home commute should be around 10km day. Not talking about the fun days thought. Ownboard did mention to me that is IP65 but i'm all ready planing to add some fix on certain spot that have already been mention by other rider in other reviews concerning dust and potential water infiltration. Tx man! Keep riding!

Dude, congrats on the board and welcome to the ESK8 community. You will have a fkn blast!! Let me recommend a few thing. First, I don't know what your climate is like where you live. I would not recommend riding the board in a wet environment. These boards are not water proof. Plus, there are other areas like the bearing races as well as bolts that are not water resistant. They will rust. Trust me. Plus, these motors are not sealed. Water damage will occur. Second, as the battery, it is not recommended to run the battery until flat. That will damage the cells. I usually run it a little past the 25% mark until it begins to feel sluggish. Then I charge it. ALSO...do not let the board just sit on the charger all the time. That too is bad. Take the board off the charger as soon as you can after it has completed the charge. Also, so don't do a bunch of short, small charges. Finally, if the board is going to sit for awhile, try to run the batter to about 50-75% and then occasionally run the motors to exercise the battery. If this is going to be a daily ride, I would strongly recommend that you do the following. Buy an extra set of belts. Buy an extra set of wheel bearing. Buy an extra set of drive hub bearings. Without these or if they break...you will not be riding the board. I keep extra stuff like this on hand for all my boards. Also, buy a helmet and knee and elbow protection. Finally, do not, and yes I have seen guys do this, do not WASH your board with a hose. Finally, finally...just have fkn fun with the board. Enjoy it. Be sure to tell us about it. What mods you do to it, and keep us updated on how it working for you. Again, congrats and welcome! Thanks for the view and comment.

@@esk8ooligan Tx for your response dude! So i understand that hub bearing are different. I will look into that. Water is my primary concern and i will try not to ride when raining but it's going to be difficult. I leave in France (Paris) and winter are rainy...I normally drive my bike every day but new laws are going to make it difficult to do so, so e-skate was for me the best solution and fun!! Security come first for me, as a bike rider and see my age, plus i need my full body in good condition to be able to work, so i didn't spare on the equipment. Full face helmet, full body Fox armor, noble man knee carbon pad and flatland3D for my hand. I will try to do some video and review of the equipment has it will be put to the test everyday and see how it handle the work out of daily use and abuse. Just need the time for that. Tx man, really appreciate your response. Keep up the work. HO, and also, i watch your video on ownboard, and honestly, that's my biggest fear... I find the brand Hunter witch is from europe and if i knew then before ordering my board with ownboard, i'll probably stick local, but the market isn't that develop here about e-skate unfortunately and at the time, ownboard seam to be the way to go, for me anyway.. Time will tell... Tx body;

Can you better explain the issue with the possible battery issue on the Hurricane, yours compared to the other guys you rode?
@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
Let's compare the two boards running side by side. Same board, same wheels, same rider (he is actually about 10-15 pounds heavier than I am). Speed mode three, breaking three. On flat land he is able to overtake me and put distance between us while I have the throttle pegged. Going up about a 12% grade hill, I am only able to hit 21MPH. He is able to again pass me and put distance between us going up the same hill. I actually have to put my Hurricane in turbo mode while he stays in mode three in order to basically stick with him. After working with Meepo, we believe that maybe one of the series of cells are damaged or maybe have become detached. The board is putting out 41A when it should be putting out about 50A. Basically we believe the battery is damaged. Meepo is sending me a new battery...it is in the mail (very slow canoe from China)...just kidding, they are sending a battery. Meepo has been great with which to work. Responsive, and supportive. Let me be clear, I really love the board...even as it runs now. If the battery takes care of the issue, I am sure I will like the board even more. My issue in no way should impact someone buying this board. I really do believe I have a bad battery based upon the other Hurricanes I have seen. Hope that give you a little more of a picture. Ride hard, Carve safe, and have a GREAT day!

@@esk8ooligan Thanks Man. I also own the Hurricane and have loved it, I asked the question just for as a curious question, They state a long distance and Im at 205lbs and only get about 20 miles distance, I will do a few more tests, speed wise on mode 3 and breaking mode 2 I have gotten up to about 29 mph and pretty quick no lag. Your one of the few that has had a good experience with Meepo Customer Service. I've sent them numerous emails and they either don't answer or when they do ask for info that I've already provided. oh well. Anticipating your video when you get the new battery. :D
