My last two jobs had a lot of screw ups, but they all look good 3-5 feet away and good enough for a cruzer car. I'm a realistic professional in this game. Not every job is going to come out sema quality.

@@TheJahmo smr42 higher solids than the ss1200. Ss1200 flows a little bit better and lays just a little bit flatter. Both amazing products. Speedokote Is all I use

Red also has the pigment of any color. That's why it covers so good. Base coat serves no purpose other than just to be a color.

Shop looks great, Car looks amazing, I'm almost ready to paint my 72 mercury cougar. The plan is to use SMR 42 clear and speedocoat base. They were able to mix using the original 1972 paint code. Thanks for the motivation.

I know she is going to be happy with that for sure. I hate the factory spray jobs they did in the late 90's to early 2000's. Ford and Chevy had clear coat issues and some people still drive them with the clear coming off of them.

Yea this was a straight forward job. 180 grit, feather chipping, 400 the rest of the car. Mask, speedkote ss2790g filler prime, sand primer , pressure wash whole car , mask and paint.

You should try using 8 ounces of intensifier,is more than enough to do a complete. When going red on red, all you need is two light coats, two medium coats. Depending how dark you want the color.

My personal project in limbo for many years now is a 1983 Mustang GT t-top car. I have paint...I just need to get busy on it. I work 60-70 hours per week. It should've been done many vacations ago. If it turns out half as good as this, I'll drive it again.

All big name paint supplies are incredibly high right now. They know insurance companies are willing to pay it. But that means companies like Speedo Kote and SPI can market to smaller shops for restoration/ overall repairs

We can cut this clear down and flow coat it and cut it down again and buff and it would be next to show quality. Do I really wana go to car shows? Nice work! Noticed you said only 1 quart of factory color over the whole car. I tried to paint a similar size car with your nardo grey base coat and took almost 2 gallons. Any tips on how to use less base coat or make it have more coverage?

2 quarts total , basically we didn't really have to put much color on the bottom half of the car

I love the jobs well done products speedo kote not huge impressed clear coat will chip very quick. with in weeks I sprayed single stage and came out nice and flat sprayed clear coat looks really nice car show nice week later wash car notice clear coat was chipping. A lot people will say did you do high quality prep job yes I always do high quality work every car that I do. 9 out of ten times its all about how you prep and get car paint ready and this 1 time I must say was product I used a high quality clear coat no problems at all.

Iv blasted my pressure washer over 5 year old speedokote clear no issues no peeling . This could very well be a product related issue . Not sure what happened. We will GLADLY REPLACE THE PRODUCT! please let me know how I can help

Euro is just about as good, but better for used car work IMO, fast dry Euro clear you only need one nice coat for cheap used car work. Smr42 is more of a restoration quality clear
