@@hatchbackturbo93 Most civics have not been stock in some way in about that long I'd say. They are really old at this point and been through a lot lol. Yeah you can buy a motor assuming you can even find them, it's tough. A full swap is even tougher to get. Most importers don't list them as there isn't a big market for getting up to 80 mpg in a civic I guess. Also it feels a little pointless to do a swap like that when you can just wait and find vx and just buy that. It will take a lot more time but you can spend like $1000 on the car rather than god knows how much having a shop swap that engine for you. Not everyone can do that work at home unfortunately.

Hey dude, cool setup you have! Props for keeping the D series! Im wondering, do you have any boost creep issues with that wastegate placement? Also i see that you are using arp head studs, are they stock D series diameter? If so, are you giving any thought to eventually opening up the deck bolt holes to run the larger diameter B-series headstuds? Also, a 1.6 rod with a vitara style piston & thicker headgasket, puts you at what compression ratio? Forgive me if you said already, but how long has it been together at that power level, and how hard are you on the car? Im guessing it spins quite a bit? In conclusion, I'll say im impressed that you've coaxed that power from that engine, without lifting the head. Ive been involved in quite a few turbo D-series builds, from stock bottom ends, to fully built sleeved blocks. The biggest weakness ive encountered was head lifting, before upgrading stud size, and stock sleeve failure. Also we did a lot of D to B trans conversions, to increase gear options. Also when you do start really getting traction dialed, we quickly realized the advantage to running b series axles, half shafts, hubs, trans, etc. D series transmissions were obviously never made w/performance in mind, let alone 500hp, lol. Just be ready if you ever decide to throw tires on it. The first time she bites in hard on a 1-2 wot shift, you might have to claim that lifetime axle warranty! ;-) even with the open diff. Wrapping up, ill just say that, i aplaud your choice in staying D powered. Its real easy to swap a B, even a K, and be done for a bit. D series engines, as you have shown, have potential, and unfortunately, end up in the garbage most of the time when you're seeing how most honda guys do builds. Its a shame, because they can be fun, and they come already installed in most ef,eg,ek chassis. Not mention, the same reason ppl trash them, is what makes them so cheap and available. Now obviously, a dohc B series, or even a K, given similar mods, will demolish a D series, its just pure fact, in part because of honda's design intent for B/K, as well as the pure advantage in head design, displacement & aftermarket support. All that being said, theres plenty of fun to be had w/a little old 1.5/1.6 sohc economy D-series. Keep on wrenching dude! Never let breakage stop you! Also best of luck at keeping that cylinder head down!lol

Only have boost creep issues since i went 6262 but only because the single 38mm is to small to regulate at low boost. Std ARP studs i made up my own tq specs and haven't lifted a head in more then 4 years. 20 ftlbs then 40 ft lbs then 90 degrees then 45 degrees. Car has BBG but has a 1 bar spring so lowest i can go is about 16 psi so car spins 1-2 on the street. If you look through my vids you'll see car has been 10.5 @140 so the B/K still has its hands full with the little D

@@hatchbackturbo93 That's awesome! Thanks for the info! I had 91 crx si years ago. I swapped to a NA ZC. It wasn't very impressive. I eventually got a free D16y8(dude got the head done, thought it was blown up, I took it, checked valve lash & shocker, about 9 were so tight, valves were being held open. After adj, ran perfect). I converted the car to obd1, & made the harness (it was def a ignorant learning exp). After I got it running right, I came on to a greddy turbo kit. I ran that w/old school style fuel mods, adj fpr turned up, vortech FMU, & I think some non Honda, factory injectors. I just used a 255 pump. If I remember, I just went to PetSmart & bought 3 inline fish tank chk valves, made an alu. plate to fit the TB where the MAP is, tapped a barb fitting in it, ran a vacuum line to the now remote honda map, with the chk valves in the vac line b4 the map. Very crude. I think it made like 15psi on like vf34 size turbo. It really wasn't bad. One thing I noticed about Honda single cams is how much more tq they make low in the rpm band. I had a 00 si b16 car, & coming from a single cam, I couldn't believe what a dog it was low. Obviously they make their living at 5500 & up, but it's a def difference.

Thats awesome, i had a stock D15b with a homemade turbo kit with a IHI RHB5 Turbo from an old ford probe back in 05, tuned on a chiped p28 and a vafc that went 13.5 @102.5 like a bracket car back in the day.
