its a lot harder to make N/A mods actually work and usually results in a loss of overall possible power, especially with a worn out engine and hard to calibrate sensor data accusation ranges/linearity, just rebuilding the dam engine properly, will provide a good performance gain, the bottle neck is the valves a good lapping and port polish to lower the resistance and actually increase volumetric efficiency of air going into the engine will make it more powerful then it was from the factory,

I used a B series AEM fuel rail, bolts, and FPR which moved it over to the other end. I decided on a cheap billet ebay throttle body and so I left the intake on the bench for a few days. Everytime I would go outr for a smoke, I would dremel more material to wind up with a chinese cloned intake that was halfassed port matched (best I could do with nothing but a dremel and a ruler) sitting on brand new longer intake studs and new vinyl fasteners. I have no cat (yours looks soft and fuzzy) and quickly replaced the $35USD exhaust with a mishimoto to match the radiator. Mine has a factory tac(o) bc its a manual. oh and 20% larger injectors sucking air through a full 3in tube and filter.

TY! I went a little crazy with spherical bearings while performing some deferred maintenanc (plus rear disc conversion while I was back there). I only used the bracket on those whole assemblies bc I didnt want to bring the rear track out. I measured and it was like an inch so thought it would be best to NOT screw with the suspension geometry. I mean it takes a 90deg turn at 45mph with the help of the monstrous whiteline (yeah AU!) sway bars which do bring it a bit lower to the ground. I put a totally riced body kit w/side skirts to make it appear lowered. Finally the addition of the forged PLM 16's (in gold of course) and it just needs to be sprayed. not mentioned is all the miles of wiring and alleged real Italian leather from a London industrial park-yes I actually import my interiors. One more purchase and I will have to send them obligatory Christmas card!

Hey just wanted to say props to you brother I came back across this video and your other videos of this build just today forgot about it I think it's awesome man that you built an all motor d series and right now for the last 7 years I've been building and fine tuning my 95 Civic Coupe EJ1 with a built all motor d16 z6 take it to the track right now it's got built head Ferrara flat face valves springs retainers stage 2 cam it's got skunk 2 intake manifold skunk 2 throttle body bigger injectors bigger fuel pump walbro 255 has p29 high comp Pistons better bearings cold air intake 1320 header full exhaust no cat just redid All the suspension in front to back top to bottom just pulled her all the way apart after 7 years to completely redo the head and block new seals timing belt water pump!!! And I will tell you brother she moves for a single cam I've drove plenty of k series b series h series my buddies have plenty of those and I've owned 16 Hondas over my time but I love building the d series all motor because it's the underdog nobody expects a d series to be fast especially not an all motor one can't tell you how many friends or random people at red light or at the street races here in Seattle I have pissed off and then they don't believe it's a single cam until I pop the hood and I can only imagine what it would do in the CRX if I put it in one of my old crx's I used to have a 89 and 91 SI with built sohc zc no VTEC and that was pretty quick but I love to z6 man this thing could take a hell of a beating I take care of it religiously but for 7 years that motor never gave out on me not once went through a couple of transmissions because they were used but finally rebuilt mine this last time around and had no issues but I will say brother what you need even if you are super charged now get a ex-z6 or Y8 transmission and I'm telling you the world of difference you will feel your gears will be a lot quicker then a dx d15 one and if you want to go all out even get a custom 1-4th done with a shorter final drive and you'll have gears as quick as a b16 and just keep a long 5th gear if you ever plan to daily drive it so you'll still save some of your gas mileage but even just a straight up EX z6 and Y8 transmission will make a huge difference because even back when I had my first single cam putting a z6 or white tranny even on a d15 with bolt-ons made a hell of a difference I was keeping up and beating single can vtec because I had the same gearing with bolt ons just no VTEC back then when you have the chance to get back to me sorry for the long comment man it's just so nice to see somebody else out there and building the d series still I love being the underdog and if I wanted build a bigger motor I have a really rare 2004 Honda Accord V6 6 speed coupe with every (HFP)Honda factory performance option they came with front lip rear lip side skirts spoiler better wheel package bigger brakes cold air intake full exhaust precat deletes and J pipe AKA a header for these v6s and a bigger intake manifold and throttle body off the acura 3.7 V6 ported runners spacer got it from my uncle who is the original owner and bought it brand new and 04 only has 60,000 original miles on it fully loaded has leather seats heated seats power steering cruise control AC etc that's my daily but with a V6 with full bolt ons I piss off a lot of people a lot of v8s anything prior to 2012 or v8s were still coming with around 300 horsepower I'll usually get them or even the challengers and chargers with the entry level V8 that's around 400-475hp not able to beat the scatpac or hellcats though yeah I've never been in the accord guy but if you look up the 03 to 07 Honda Accord V6 coupe but it has to have the hfp Honda factory performance body kit on it with the lips side skirts and spoiler the regular models look boring these ones are way more aggressive and only 500 ever made eventually would like to turn that into a track car as well and when the motor finally blows up years down the road since we just rebuilt it even at only 60k going to put the newer bigger 3.7 V6 in it but right now even with the 3.2 already put down 305 to the wheels not bad keep up the good work would love to hear about your single cam

The port was there and on an aspirated car the vacuum of the intake actually reduces the crank case pressure by essentially sucking it out, yes the oil Vapor is bad for the valves but on a healthy motor you don’t get much of any blow by so it’s a non issue , but yes a catch can is a good idea, I didn’t have one handy so I didn’t bother with this mod

James all good questions, I can only estimate in Australian dollars, but I would say a full high compression rebuild done at a shop with a haltech full exhaust intake big throttle body and cam, with intake would be in the ballpark of 10-12k, and only to make 75-90kw at the wheels, I would take that money and put it into a k24 swap and make 150kw at the wheels

in Australia all d16y8's are vtec, any other d16y manifold will fit any other d16ythe ebay ones are fine just make sure you smooth the ports and check for casting chunks in side other wise they are as good as skunk2 manifolds in most cases. In my opinion, there’s a novelty to taking the long way around (like a scenic route) and building upon the basic single cams- it requires much more work but the idea of reaching that level with time and careful craftsmanship is just satisfying Personally haven’t built anything yet, but I do intend to keep the stock D16Y7 in my first project car I acquired back in 2020
