You can see the bullet in flight by how it moves the atmosphere around it on the way out. That is awesome. Looking at a high end rifle. Was thinking Sako but these look tempting at not that much more money.

My .300 Win Mag does everything I will ever need a rifle to do. I am greatly pleased to see the cartridge perform at greater distances. (I expect to shoot game at 350 yards or less.) Thank you for this excellent, professional video. 😎✌

I love the 300 win mag! My brother Mark turned me on to it and I must say its awesome in the long range dept. Mark's B-14 HMR is 1/4 with 212 Hornady with H1000 behind them. My Omen 300 is new to me and I'm working on loads for it. But with factory Federal 185 Berger Hybrids I'm 1/2 moa.

If you are not a fan of the 30 caliber rifles (30-30 / .308 / .30-06 / .300 WM) then you should be. All Four have the exact same projectile diameter, and range from 110g to 250g. Though the carbine rounds are a bit different, I have loaded and fired them in .308 brass. If you can't pick the right tool for the job out of those four rifles, well.... Try putting together a box of Nossler 125 grain boat tail spitzers with 76 gr of H1000. No need to adjust your turret with a 50 yard zero. Just hold @500 yards and squeeze. Adjust MOA and windage on the reticle. Gets a little squirrely past 600 yards though. The BC breaks down pretty fast and they start to tumble sometimes. But, when you are trying to push that 4000fps barrier with a 30 cal "squirrely" is the least of your problems.

Nice vid. What's the weight of the rifle, Ron? I own a Remington 5R milspec and it'll shoot 3/4" groups at 100 meters using 208 grain A-MAX's, with carefully developed loads! I've shot deer out to 400 meters so far, however, it's the weight, it's just not practical as a hunting weapon! Thanks.

All that money on a gun and scope, but he chooses a flimsy fold-out bench rest. A factor when using the bigger calibers because the gun's fore end starts rising before the bullet leaves the barrel. Besides, one 3-shot group has no statistical validity. For 40 years, the standard for gun magazines has always been three 5-shot groups or five 3-shot groups. Everyone has "wallet groups."

Does anyone exceed Max COAL lengths with their 300 Mag hand loads? I saw a you tube video of increasing past COAL for better groups. I’m currently not happy with my hand loads, they’re greater than 1 inch at 100 yards. It’s hard to get powder currently as well. Apparently H1000 is one of the best powders for the cartridge. I wish I could get my hands on some.
@RonSpomerOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Bullet ogive and barrel throat (free bore) allow for different bullet seating depths that could/can safety exceed SAAMI spec. COAL. Handloaders regularly custom seat bullets at varying lengths to fine tune accuracy.
@Leo427able3 жыл бұрын
@@RonSpomerOutdoors My X-Bolt won't left me go past COAL with the nosler E-tip bullets. The bolt won't close. I'm going to have to wait for powder to be back in stock or load .2 of a grain for the powder I have from min to max and hopefully find a good group. I like that nosler test loads the powder for you and gives us which powder at what grain weight shot the most accurate for their bullets. It gets us in the ball park without wasting so much time and money by toying with different powders and weights.

@RonSpomerOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
All that and the stock. Not a cheap thermo-molded plastic, but handlaid fiberglass, probably some Kevlar and carbon plus aluminum bedding... Quality stock and bedding to match the high quality action, barrel, trigger and workmanship.
