Randy...my friend has a countertop mounted exhaust fan. Is about twice as wide a a ruler and about a foot long. Has venting down thru cupboard out the side of the house (like a dryer vent). This all because she has a big window over her sink & stove area. Just a thought for you
@chezmoi422 жыл бұрын
Yes, for an induction/electric stove they are super. I used to have a Jenn-Air downdraft range in my Seattle house, and I looooved it. We had a window above the stove, and the sill (and the rest of the kitchen) stayed so nice and clean. Do you know what brand your friend's fan is?
@ZeoCyberG2 жыл бұрын
Yes, downdrafts are an option as long as you have room to run the ventilation through the counter top and lower cabinet space. Units range from simple vent to motorized lift system that when raised makes it double as a backsplash while you cook and puts the vent above the countertop when in use for better air flow.

@jansmith31582 жыл бұрын
Have you thought about having the doors of your tiny homes swing out? This will give more room inside. Also, in hurricane belt states lots of home buiders swing the door out so that if a storm/hurricane blows the door will not blow inward. This might have been code at one time years ago. But, I think for a tiny home that it would give more room inside. Just a thought. 🤔🧐 Glad your business is growing, you deserve success and you are changing so many lives in a positive direction 👏
@kathymc2342 жыл бұрын
Residential code has certain requirements
@ZeoCyberG2 жыл бұрын
@@kathymc234 Residential requirements actually varies for door opening direction as there are different reasons to go either way. Like in case of a fire, but in an area where there can be heavy snow fall then the door can be required to open inward because it's a lot quicker and easier to open the door and dig through the snow than to try to push the door open when it's blocked by a lot of snow. It's mainly public areas that it'll always be outward because a mob can push through anything and in an emergency a mob isn't going to stop long enough for someone in the front to open the door inward. So public spaces it's always outward... Concerns about security used to be a factor, with exposed hinges of an outward swinging door, but modern doors can be made to work either way and still be secure. While another reason to be inward swinging is because there's an outer door, as you can't have both doors open in the same direction. So screen doors, etc mean the inner door swings inward... Though, there are ways to get around that with sliding door and a few other tricks.
