I know the feeling of no car payments, which was true on my 2007 very low mileage Pontiac Grand Prix - but I just had to buy this Camry before everything went EV or Hybrid, which will be a failing experiment, so I now have a car payment, but the Pontiac is still car payment free - and I still own it!

Awesome vid mate. I purchased a Toyota Camry 2018 Sports with 19,000 kilometres on it. Absolutely amazing car, 4 cyl with a six speed transmission. I service mine every 7500 kms at a Toyota dealership here in Sydney. I was recommend anyone considering buying a Camry just do it. It will be the best car purchase you will ever make.

The "hold" button is a break hold. It is for stop and go traffic where the car would keep the break engaged with your foot off the pedal and release it when you depress the accelerator.

I didn't know about that line turning red when you put it in sport mode. Pretty cool. Something I had done to my 2023 XSE which I haven't seen mentioned in any videos is that you can have the dealership program your car so that when you press and hold down the unlock button on the fob, after a few seconds you'll get two beeps and two flashes of the parking lights and then the windows will roll down. Then, after a short pause, the panoramic roof will open. Let off the fob button to halt the process at any time. 😎

4 months in on my 2023 Camry XSE V6 gets 19.7mpg ... not very good ... started out at under 8 mpg which was super duper low during the start of the break-in period. Odometer is at 1,405 miles. I believe the factory F-d it all up and installed a bad injector port or was not programmed correctly. Something is just not right about low MPGs. Should be averaging 24 to 27 mpg after 500 miles. Could also be that the fuel is not pressurized enough. I don't see any leaks on the ground or in the engine compartment.

That Hold feature is for use in stop and go traffic, when you are in a line at a drive through, or at a long red light, for example. Once turned on, the electronic brake will engage as soon as you come to a complete stop, allowing you to take your foot off the brake. It will then automatically disengage the instant you touch the throttle. Also, there are wireless CarPlay adapters out there that will make your CarPlay wireless. I don't know how well they work, though. Finally, at your height, you might be reaching the physical limit of your head up display, but there is a position adjustment in the settings you could play with. And, by the way, the HUD is polarized. You can't use polarized sunglasses with it, and non-polarized sunglasses are hard to find. I had to order a pair online! (I have the 2020 version of your car)

My wife won't allow me to use that hold feature "keep your feet on the brake" she says when we stop, actually I prefer to do that as well - I prefer to be in control of the car rather than for it be in its own control, so even self driving cars are never going to fly for me. As far as wireless CarPlay I also prefer to 'plug it in' otherwise the wireless control takes over and stops the other media you may be listening to.

There is a major difference between normal and sport mode in when and how the transmission shifts. The key though is that you'll only be able to tell this difference if you don't have a lead foot. If you're in normal and you give a lot of pedal all the time, it's not going to feel meaningfully different.

I've got a 23 xse v6. My wife and I bought it with 17miles. I've put close to 4 thousand miles on it. It's the nicest car I've ever owned. She has a 19 rav4 adventure. Won't lie, I whip my camry on the back roads. It's fun haha and 300 horses is plenty for some fun on the twists. The hold button, makes it so that when you compress the brakes all the way the car will hold them with out driver input. It holds it for I think 1min maybe a little longer. It's great.

With past experience being poor in used cars (private sale) and the crazy interest rate on CPO cars has me considering the 2024 Camry! Taking on a car payment is never amazing but since my goal is to keep it for 10 years I think the Camry is the right choice and is tried and true in terms of reliability.

I have a 2023 Camry XSE V6 and it just turned 5,000 miles. I only have two complaints that I have found so far and I am 6'2". The blue tooth telephone can only be programed to one phone. If it is programed to my phone and my wife gets a call while riding with me, in order to talk through the car speaker I have to go into the screen and reprogram the car screen to her phone. Then when I get a call or make a call I have to again go in and change it back to my phone. What a drag. In my Sequoia I have a Kenwood player and which ever phone rings you can talk through the car speaker. The other complaint I have is that the Over Head Display in my 23 is set too far to the right. Just a very slight lean to the right will cut off the right side of the Heads Up Display. Or even if i am looking straight ahead and I close my left eye it will cut off the right side of the display. In the reflection in the windshield you can see the depression of where the display sits and the display is far to the right of the depression. The salesman tells me that you can not move the Heads Up Display to the left any. I drive with my right arm on the center console and lean slightly to the right and it cuts off the right side of the display. Those are my only two complaints so far.

Mine has 9,000 miles. The cruise control has a “feature” that going down the freeway with it on you enter a curve and it momentarily slows the car down. Irritating as hell on trips. No navigation system at all but I use Apple Maps with CarPlay and it works. We’ll see how it does in the snow over the next few months.

I have had plenty of rentals where I want to switch the audio to my phone and I can’t because CarPlay is WiFi based and not Bluetooth based so I have to go to my settings and turn WiFi off. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I am coming from a Lexus 2007 GS 350 which is16-yrs old. I have a deposit for a 2023 Camry SE, I really wanted to wait for the new redesign 2024 Camry, but my GS 350 to date has cost me near $10K since June 2022 of service and maintenance. Now, the VSC light is ON, the Check engine light is on. and it requires a 155,000 service. I don't want to drop anymore money fixing this car. I am on the fence moving forward with a purchase of a Camry SE when it arrives on June 3, 2023. I'm not a fan of the piano black trim too. And the design of the front end is too much. The 2024 Camry looks clean and updated, of course. But I need a car bad. I am mentally broken thinking about whether I should move forward or not. But I do need a car desperately. I test drove the 2023 Accord and there's a $5000 markup of add-ons ($34,500). The 2023 Camry doesn't ($29,720). What should I do? Help. I don't think I want another Lexus with the high-price of scheduled maintenance directly from a Lexus dealership, as I can't and don't know a trustworthy local mechanic. What to do?

I am in the same exact situation, except my daily driver is an 05 Honda Accord. It has been a great car, but the age has definitely caught up with it. Despite the negative reviews of new Accord’s look, I actually like it a lot. It’s both clean and sophisticated looking. However, I am not paying that $5000 markup. That’s just utterly ridiculous. Dealerships simply don’t have to do that. I do believe the Camry, with it’s natural aspirated engine, will be more reliable, but I don’t love it’s looks. It’s a little over styled, in my opinion. However, I am still considering it.

@@sherrikwhiteside6107 Okay Thanks. I really have no choice, but to purchase the 2023 Camry SE at this point in time. I hope once it arrives and I do a walk around that I will love it. Thanks for being a part of the channel and can totally relate. Some others have given good advice on here as well. That said, definitely shy away from Honda right now with their markups. And, the value isn’t there on Lexus either. That said I will offer this: Toyota is #1 in reliability and resale, so you can’t go wrong there. However, I do think there’s better value out there at this moment in time. Toyota has made the decision to throttle back car supply to the US market to keep their price points high, so I would absolutely go look at Mazda. There’s better value there. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi! Just Subscribed to your channel. June 2023. Did you know there is a ventilation fan under the seat? With the car engine running, If you have all Heating/Air Cond. are off and the fan speed to Zero. if you hear wind noise it is the fan. When you sit in the rear you will not hear it, Sitting in the driver's seat you just wonder if a window is slightly cracked open. Yes! Camry is not very suitable for big and tall people. Ever tried sitting in a Honda Civic or Fit? Maybe a Yaris? There are some ridiculous small midget-size cars out there. Comparison with the 2022 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T (non-hybrid) would be interesting as the Accord has more cabin noise, fussing with Idle-Stop, and ground clearance is 5.5 inches vs Camry's 5.7 inches. driver headroom is 37.5 inches vs Camry's 37.6. Yes! driving and handling are slightly better in the Accord, a little bit more comfortable, plus Speed from 0 to 60 is 0.4 seconds faster. Oh! Toyota's Integrated DashCam is not very good. FitCamX is kind of better. Viofo A139 Pro 4K front camera with HDR is excellent, Thinkware U3000 with a 4K front camera was recently released but has bugs to work out and unfortunately, the older U1000 with a 4K camera released in Sept. 2019 is better. The new Viofo A119 Mini 2 (2K front and rear cameras) is holding its own and looking decent. For Wireless Carplay and Android Auto, I have Ottocast U2-X Pro for $99 and it functions very well. Piano Black trim, I don't go touching it but does get dusty and wipes off easily. For the Black Plastic Door Panels that become scuffed or minor scratches caused by your feet. I use Turtle Wax Ceramic Acrylic Black Spray, for some reason Turtle Wax company uses a Black Dye/pigmentation and it works well for me. I would Not recommend using Kiwi Black Shoe Polish on plastic as would make a mess if your nice clothing rubbed against it.

Love the 3 series! So yes - they are known for being reliable. Not so much on the 5 series but the 330i is a solid platform. I owned one and made videos on them . . . check them out if you want. I think I did a 5 things I hate and 5 things I love. In short, good cars.

At 6'4 also, I am curious about the interior. Shorter torso and longer legs, the video shows there is room available? My local dealer doesn't have a demo for a test drive. They have a XSE AWD coming in June that i could take pending test drive.

Nice review. I am seriously considering this car (2024 model) and have even put down a retainer at the dealership. It drives great but I have two nagging concerns. #1: the resolution on the backup and Bird’s eye camera is abysmal. I can’t imagine that a Japanese car exec would allow that given how inexpensive good cameras are now. To me this totally seems like a typical American suit move to cut corners wherever possible. And if they did it here, for something they didn’t have to do, it gives me pause as to where else they may have done so. #2: my vehicle has the Navigation upgrade package which is supposed to have a superior audio system but tbh I am completely unimpressed. Like I said the car drives great but the lack of attention to the simple things like this gives me pause for dropping $40k on this vehicle.

The JBL package isn't amazing, but it's far superior to the regular stereo. It's definitely cheaper to have a good shop upgrade the standard version to sound far superior to the JBL. The NAV is also useless; I still use Apple Carplay instead of it

If it was built in Japan, those little issues wouldn't exist. Mainly things like the noise from the JBL Sub. I'm pro USA but I must admit Japanese built cars have that extra quality.

How do you find the 8spd tranny? I own a 17 highlander and it is the “busyiest” transmission I’ve ever owned. It just can’t make up its mind which gear it wants to be in. Conversely I own a 20 accord 2.0T 10 speed and it’s my favorite sedan I’ve ever owned. I’m pissed that Honda bowed down to the whimpy green initiative and went cvt in virtually all their vehicles. It was my 1st Honda after being loyal to Toyota for almost 2 decades. The 2.0T is super fast and makes gobs of power without ever breaking a sweat! 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and I leave traffic at the red light in the dust without breaking 4500 rpm. Unfortunately due to work I have no choice but to replace my car by January, I’m really considering the xse.

My brother at 6'5" needed to move the seat way back and recline in order to sit in the Camry. Ground Clearance at 5.7 inches, feels low and dragging my bottom on the ground. You can feel almost all road imperfections. On windy days, cabin noise is noticeable. Fuel MPG is not very good. It gets 19.7mpg as I drive 65 percent City and 35 percent Highway. Have 1,405 miles on Odometer. UPDATE: have 2,412 miles and getting 20.8 MPG says the computer. When not using the Computers Calculation and going by Distance Traveled and Gas Tank Fill Up ... I am getting 27.6 MPG. The Camry computer must be confused and super slow in updating. Spending MSRP of $40K plus you would be better off with a car priced around $50K provided you can afford it. The 2023 Camry XSE V6 is good but far from great for the price tag. A fair MSRP would be $36K Fully Loaded. I paid an MSRP of $41,305 fully loaded and felt I got cheated. The OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL440 just terrible tires; had replaced them ASAP with Michelin CrossClimate2's set me back $1,050 so I actually paid $42,355. Add Sales Tax and other fees you are looking at $45K. Overpriced Camry made of plastic, glass, aluminum, and funky Tech gadgets that may or may function properly. Again, the fair price would be $36K with better quality tires other than Turanza garbage. Am I happy with my 2023 Camry XSE V6? No! Quality wise and build it sux but stuck with it since I do not want to lose any more money. I'd be happier if only had paid $36K.

Yes Sir, I have enjoyed all your spectacular reviews on the Camry. Appreciate the kind words and support toward Military personnel/veterans. My 2023 Toyota Camry XSE V6 (2GR-FKS 3.5L) MSRP $41,305.00 [Base $36,370. You generally able to negotiate a lower price as MSRP is not Dealer Invoice Cost. Chances are you could get $500 to $3000 off. Don't like the Offer or Price, go to other Dealerships and shop around. MSRP is the norm since COVID-19 has hurt dealerships. Dealer markups on cars, just walk away from the place. Don't play the Salesperson game and becareful of the Numbers game. Get everything in writing if promised something and have it signed by a Dealer Manager or Finance person. Do not rely on the Salesperson having the authority to offer you something since in reality they can't. Never sign anything without reading and thinking it over, need more time, go back another day. Most Deposits are Non-Refundable. Dealer minimal is usually $1,000. Avoid making a deposit on the 1st day as the car should be there tomorrow. Common sense and smartwise. Give yourself time, anxiety and being impatient causes rush decisions. Salesperson will pressure you because they will say, can't promise you it will be here later or tomorrow. They want your money now and signature on the contract. TFS way of ripping people off by increasing ARP every January. Beware of Toyota's famous "QC Holds" aka Quality Control delays. The new way in the last few years to shaft you over. The day the Toyota Dealership Finance Manager runs your Credit Check through Toyota Financial Services "TFS" you have a 30 Day window on the current APR. If you let the Credit Check go passed the 30 Day mark, your APR agreement is Expired. TFS will then issue a higher APR aka higher Interest Rate. You can go to your own bank or credit union for a pre-approved loan hopefully their APR is less than TFS. Dealership markups on cars is B.S. (don't pay and walk away), fake increase as We Put Nitrogen in the Tires (Prove it), They will attempt to sell you Accessories, Warranties, Paint Protection and Underbody Rust Proofing. Be careful of who the 3rd Party Service is. Dealership gets a Commission on selling you 3rd Party Services and offer you Zero coverage because it is not a Toyota or Dealership provided Service being performed by them. You are best to seek and get Services you want on your own terms. Don't let the Dealership get a Commission on same service you could obtain for a Cheaper Cost by going there yourself. Toyota has been in the business of App Subscription Plans. After the Trial Period, do not Renew as cancel them because they are not needed or required. Except REMOTE START because the car computer is rigged not to work unless you pay for the plan. Another Toyota ripoff scheme. $80 per year. Please consult with Toyota as this may change in the future and require no payment. **Automotive News reports that, starting in 2023, buyers of new Toyota and Lexus vehicles will get a 10-year free trial period for the company’s Safety Connect and Service Connect systems. **As long as you equip your new Toyota or Lexus with the company’s new infotainment system, you get 10 years free. For Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto get Ottocast U2-X Pro dongle for $99, it works great. If you really want a Toyota VSA warranty, you think cost is too high, call as many Toyota Dealers you want in the country "USA" until you get a nice low price. Your dealer wants $2,500 for 7 year / 100K miles Platinum Plan, call around to other dealers as might get one of same plan for $1,900 maybe as low as $1,600. Huge mistake, never ever Trade-In a vehicle, it is like going to the Pawn Shop. Sell your car Privately or may consider giving it free to a family member. Never sell to a friend unless they know everything you have done to the car and they know what is possibly wrong with it. Selling to a friend can destroy your friendship. For example, your 2015 Vehicle you paid $35K and in 2023 is worth $20K. Dealer offers $14K as Trade-In, you just lost possible $5K to $6K in your own pocket.
