500hp LS 6.0L Engine Build Part 2 | Tear Down Begins for our Holden Commodore VE SS Track Ute

In this episode, we start the engine tear down process on our low km L77 6.0L engine. We show you how to remove fuel injector plugs, the wiring loom and the oil sump. We also drop the oil and were pleasantly surprised with the condition of the oil and there were no silver bits in the sump!
We purchased this engine from the wrecker and will use this as the basis for our new engine build. We will be fitting a high performance camshaft, ported heads, dry sump and more goodies for high rpms on the track with our Holden Commodore VE SS track ute.

What sort of lifters are you going to use in the L77? Do they come as a package with your camshaft? Are you going to use a double row timing chain?

G'day Angry, we will probably go with LS7 lifters. Normally you need to buy the lifters separately if you want the LS7 bad boys. We will probably stick with single row at this stage. Thanks for watching the channel.

Is the 6.0L a LS2? Oil looked OK.

Gday Tom, it is actually a L77. Different to a LS2 but same displacement of 6.0L.
