The developers knew it wasn't their lot, but they built anyway because there was a financial incentive. They hoped the legal owner would cave. Hopefully she stands her ground. Likely a lot of people would contribute and help her fight.

She has to be careful about quiet title actions because she could lose her right to the land over the fact the judge doesn't play fair with women litigants who are being sued. Remember, the opposing party who sues tends to judge shop for a judge that will rule in their favor at all points in the lawsuit. Hawaii is just like Iowa, they bum each other off when it comes to real estate law and quiet title.

Well it should be considered a loss to all parties involved. Be careful who you do business with and who you hire. It’s her property she bought it they should have verified the property. It’s her house now she should be allowed to keep it and allowed to have it bulldozed at zero expense to her and have her taxes recompensated for property tax increase due to the house. Can’t own anything you build if the land isn’t yours. Lessons have to be handed here or chaos will reign.

That´s a huge and unforgivable mistake made by the building company. The owner should be let to choose between keeping the building for herself WITH NO FEES ON THE PLOT OWNER or the house being dismanteled/ demolished and the lot being returned to its former status WITH NO FEES ON THE PLOT OWNER
