My most driven part of US-61 outside of New Orleans is the part between I-10 and Baton Rouge. I’ve pretty rarely driven it between I-10 and Laplace.

I remembered the time that me and my dad used to bring a truck load of Zapp's Chips back to H town
@504RoadTrips2 жыл бұрын
I never particularly cared for Zapp’s. A little too hard and crunchy, like eating broken glass.

4:55 A tourist attraction. US 51 goes through Memphis. I may watch the series. I do sometimes watch your other videos.

We only went as far as Hammond on US-51, although I believe we covered it up in Memphis as well.

Last I knew Zapp's chips are now made in Pennsylvania.
@504RoadTrips2 жыл бұрын
Zapp’s has been owned by Utz Quality Foods of Hanover, PA since 2010 when Ron Zappe died, but they have always been manufactured in Gramercy, LA.
@Darin1752 жыл бұрын
@@504RoadTrips Didn't know that. It doesn't mention Gramercy on the bag. Thanks for the information.

At 13:39, there appears to be a JCT sign for a LA route (- 1 route?). The signal at McReine/Kimball seems to be where the JCT should be. Outside of the JCT signage, there is no other signage other than the US 61 signage. What gives?
@504RoadTrips2 жыл бұрын
So it appears that the sign is supposed to be for 636-1, which is/was McReine Road between Airline and the River Road. It’s not marked on any map that I can find and I completely missed the sign. When I looked back at the video, the sign appears to have the numbers partially removed or covered (I’m looking at it on my phone, so it may be readable on a large screen). There’s also a 636-3 but I can’t figure out where it is (once again, because I’m trying to find it on my phone). There is no LA-636. It’s possible that the highway has been turned over to the parish and they just didn’t remove the sign. Most of the hyphenated routes have been done away with over the last 30 years or so. Wikipedia says they both still exist but that info may be outdated.

@@504RoadTrips Do you have something left from I-29 in ND? You can go back there and complete it even if it's not too rainy or dark.

I am smelling some good boudin or is it blood sausage or maybe pork cracklings?
@504RoadTrips2 жыл бұрын
The best boudin comes from Youngsville near Lafayette. You can also get good boudin up around the Krotz Springs area on US 190.
