Bon Marche is long gone and now Cortana, the “new” mall is going the way of the dinosaur as well.

This video starts up a hill from River Road--driving up the ancient Istrouma Bluff--the high land that inspired the French to build here. Just after I110, you drove past my old junior high--Baton Rouge Junior High, where I learned Louisiana history. Was there from 1958-1961. The Magnolia Cemetery was the site of the Civil War Battle of Baton Rouge. None of the confederate soldiers who fought there were eligible to be buried in the National Cemetery right across Florida Street from Magnolia. On the far left of the intersection where you turned right to Airline Highway is the now defunct Cortana Mall--which had not even bee built yet when I attended an unauthorized production of Jesus Christ Superstar set up in a field that later became the mall--and which might become a field again, eh? This was a nice drive down Florida St. I've subscribed and will check out the rest of these videos. Better than a trip back to Baton Rouge these days!

You omitted the fact that 22nd Street carries LA 67 and Foster Drive carries LA 37. Looks like the signs was missing when you shot your footage.

Whoops! LA 37 was recently truncated to Greenwell Springs Road at Airline Highway.

PelicanGuy they’re truncating a lot of state highways. I didn’t use the map much when I made the video so if there was no sign, I probably missed it. There are a lot of missing signs.
