I had a black one. Put a supercharger, exhaust, suspension, and brakes. Car was amazing. Handled great. I ran 11.8 getting way worse traction than on the street with stock tires. With slicks its definitely a 10 second car. Mine was right around 500 probably a little over.

After being pleasantly welcomed by a new ThatDudeInBlue video on my feed, I sat down to enjoy it. My 8-year-old sister was minding her own business and playing with her dolls just by me in front of the sofa. My dad owns a 17.8L G8 with a ported 6 inch exhaust, triple 898/616 cam, 0.7 speed transmission, twin ported 360mm throttle bodies, 7:91 diff gears, dual painted flywheel, 12 plate spaceship clutch, quad 10mm turbos, internal waste gate, twin 140L superchargers, gold plated oil filter, 24 piston brakes, drilled and slotted steering wheel, ABS on all seat belts, and sits on 25" wide street slick paddle tyres. Makes about 64hp at 91,000rpm at 662psi and does the quarter in high 3's at just over 6.2mph

Because Traction, and gearing, and piss poor factory tunes to accommodate emissions lmao. GM is notorious for leaving power enrichment enabled on factory tunes causing them to spark knock all over the place. 2011 2500HD picked up 40hp just disabling it. Do you know who Rick Crawford is? His All motor G8 ran 10.79 4 years ago guy. OMG8 ran low 10's on spray with his clutch packs slipping to beat jesus haha. I have no doubt that this car is brushing high 10's. Not mid or lows, but high 10's without a doubt. I wont even get into elevation and shit haha.

JRock 636 i agree with GM engines it is so easy to unlock extra hp without stepping away from having and all motor, naturally aspirated engine. There are so many other upgrades to increase hp other than a turbo or supercharger. Their are plenty of all motor cars that run high to midrange 10's. The Pontiac G8 GXP comes stock with a 6.2L V8 with 415 hp at the crank and about 400-405 at the wheels with simple bolt on upgrades and a tune will put you at about 500hp the weight is a minus but like you said with proper gearing and traction and trash the GM stock tune with a upgraded tune anything can be possible. Rick Crawford is a prime example of what potential these G8s have. AKA BoB Barker is butthurt.

+Thee Silent - GM screwed up in other areas AND the U.S. economy had been tanking for 2 years. GM was forced to streamline it's brands in order to stay in business. Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Saturn produced less net profit than their other brands. THAT is why the G8 went away. I agree that because of a budget crisis, the G8 was poorly marketed, however. I almost bought a new GXP and wish I had. With exception to the Corvette, Pontiac always had cars which were more sporty than their siblings. I am attempting to import a Holden Ute SV since GM never brought them to the U.S. market as an El Camino or GMC Sprint. They make great bike haulers and drive very similar to a G8 or Holden Commodore.

Everyone hates on the GT cuz it only came in auto. But with a simple tune on that transmission, the lack luster "manual mode" (no clutch and sloppy shifts) turns into a really nice gear selection feature. From the factory they just kinda shift when they want even when you go up or down a gear. But the tune makes it actually select that gear you want. So you can engine brake and get those maximum RPM passes. Beats paying double for the GXP which only has a manual trans and LS3 block over the GT.

I just put a Magnuson 2300 Supercharger on my G8. Cam, Injector Dynamics 1050 fuel injectors, dual fuel pumps, Rotofab Cold Air intake, 3" Long Tube Headers with X-pipe. Dyno Tuned with HP Tuners software yields 585 hp and 565 ft lbs torque with just 6 lbs of boost on 93 Octane. With E85, Meth and 12 lbs of boost it yields 715 hp and 620 ft lbs torque. It will hang with just about anything i.e. Dodge Challenger Hell Cat, Shelby Mustang GT 500! It's a keeper!

Headers + cnc ported heads is already dyno tested at 495rwhp so all we have left is the custom cam(that bitch is not cheap fucking shit only one company makes it too), forged pistons / rods, sls bs valve buckets, intake manifold by kleemann, weistec bullet proof trans and some supporting mods as well as a small change in radiator size and of course a 150 wet kit from nitrousexpress.com. Those guys know what is up let me tell you! And he explained literally everything to me with such enthusiasm and was very patient

a stall converter doesn't let the the trans spin before a certain rpm..for example he said the car has a 2700rpm stall converter, which means the if you put your foot on brake and gas at the same time, the wheels won't spin until it hits that rpm...basically for better launches.

I honestly think after you made this video the amount of modded G8s I see my area have risen by a large amount or maybe I just never paid them any attention cause I wasn't aware of the powerhouse LS motor that was sitting under the hood. I think you have forever changed how car guys look at G8s LOLOL

Jack Spratt Performance cars without manual transmission is no fun. If this is your daily driver, then automatic would be more convenient. Have you ever even driven a manual? Why would you want 505HP automatic engine..? That's no fun.

***** I dunno... Indy cars seem to do pretty well with automatic transmissions and paddle shifters. My car is a hell of a lot of fun too, and it's automatic with paddle shifters. Nowadays... Manual transmissions are very overrated when it comes to performance numbers... I'm not saying driving a manual isn't fun it is.... I'm saying that an decent automatic transmission is better IMO.

Jack Spratt "Manual transmissions are more fun, and automatics are more comfortable." - I'd say that's a pretty general consensus among auto enthusiasts. Indycar drivers use paddle shifters because a fully manual transmission is impractical and slower for that application.

Samwise Drogod am i really the only one whos actually a fan of the rear of these cars? My friends fiance just bought one this same color of red, and it has 4 titanium exhaust tips with a rear carbon diffuser. I slap that big sexy red quad exhaust booty all the time cuz its sooo mfing sexy. Guess juat personal preferences, i love the look of them from the rear tho
