I live in Austin Texas. Recently retired, And looking to sell my house in Austin for something more rural. Taxes in Austin are extremely high. I pay around 5,000 per year on an 1100 sq ft home., with a small lot. When I search for homes in Texas, I search for homes built prior to 1969., Homes built prior to 1969 are often custom built homes, built by craftsmen, Not with cheap labor. and they were built to last many years, with hardwoods and many custom features inside and out. And you would be surprised how many homes you can find between 75,000 and 150,000 dollars. And most have been recently updated and remodeled. I love to fish, And recently I found a house in Texas City Texas, Just 4 blocks from the beach, a 2 bedroom, with a recent remodel for 110,000 dollars. However, There are so many homes to choose from, I am still searching for that perfect home for me.
