My thoughts: Would have liked to see the entry wall opened up, could have done a nice feature banister on the stairs so its not so claustrophobic. Love the wall paper choice in the powder, as the gold leaves bring out some of the tones in the Victoria Falls. The furlough in the kitchen is hardly noticeable with the cabinet design, so I doubt its a talking point in the future. The master bath may not have any real way to lay out with out a little controversy, at least not without spending a bunch of money that would not be returned on investment. It does however take away the dead space the original vanity caused and creates a place that is usable not just with the larger shower but could fit a tall hamper or trash bin in the corner.
@Nanasews43 ай бұрын
I agree, coming into a WALL, not so pleasing, having the stairs continue down to the doorway, with open sides , would be a more Grand entry. This would lean to a open feeling to both rooms....lighting would be great.

Beautiful flip! I would've done some things a little differently if it were me, but still a beautiful upgrade! For instance I would've removed the wall in the entrance so the stairs could be visible. Then I'd build a new staircase with an ornate railing to give the entrance some visual interest. That way when guests walk into the house they'll see a beautiful staircase instead of a blank wall. I mean the way you two did it is fine, but there needs to be something hanging there like artwork. I wouldn't put a coat rack on that wall because you don't want people walking in and having a bunch of coats in their face. At least if there's a painting or photo, there's something pleasant greeting them.
@BreannaMae11 ай бұрын
@@allalala9916 Yep exactly! Having something like that would add some visual interest for sure. It's better than walking through the front door and there's a blank white wall in your face. I would avoid mirrors on that wall also. No one wants to walk into a person's house and immediately be startled by their own reflection lol. A painting with a table underneath is preferable. My entrance has something very much like that, with a floral arrangement dressing up the table.

yikes that primary bathroom is not good. Also, cheap white cabinets in the kitchen…no lower drawers which is what people are looking for. So much wasted space in this house that you could have made into an office or laundry.
@chellejack348011 ай бұрын
Yeah, this house does not feel high end at all. Everything feels like it's apartment grade. BUT.....this IS a flip house....so.....they needed to save money to make a profit. Also, I would have pushed the kitchen into the formal dining area and added a walk-in pantry. The master bathroom is a big NO. Also I wish they would have used more high end furniture to stage it, because it gives the illusion of a more expensive home. If I bought this house after THIS makeover, I would immediately move in and remodel it. 😂. But it's a decent starter home for someone. I'm just not at the starter home phase of life right now, so maybe I'm being too critical.

Although the house overall looks nice I totally agree with your kitchen base cabinet observation. This is too high of a price home to have 'crawl in' base cabinets. And being stuck with that primary bath layout the toilet could have at least been skirted instead of the cheapest old style bulgy one. This might be ok with 500k buyers but the bar needs to raise on this one.

This is my first video from them and I was thinking this is a flip level for a much lower end market. Small details can make a huge difference. Drawers instead of crawl in base cabinets, skirted toilets, and that back yard needs a retaining wall.

@joshua_a_boehm11 ай бұрын
Latex paint over brick, and the older the worse it is, is typically not the best idea. It can cause moisture issues due to lack of vapor permeability. You have also just turned a low maintenance product (brick) into a higher maintenance item (latex paint). If you use a more vapor open paint like mineral paint, or a white wash that's a lot better for the brick.
