Hi Andy, If you look back over my channel you will see that I tend to camp once in every month, sometimes more often, sometimes less depending on family commitments. My wife recently suffered a minor stroke and has needed someone here all the time. my last camp was a few weeks ago and my next camp is this weekend coming: Here's my last camp kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZOzinyJgaugjMUsi=b-3tUmAQR96lZQCg

Hi Sandy, I’ve been watching your videos for well over 10 years! I began watching when I was in the scouts, obsessed with camping and bushcraft stuff at the time. I remember watching your first successful walk of the ridgeway, back in 2014, and being totally inspired and captivated by your story telling and adventure. I went on to hike the West Highland Way and Hadrian’s Wall Path inspired by your videos. You also inspired me to cycle the way of the roses earlier this year with my dad, but we weren’t brave enough to do it on Bromptons like you and Dave 😂. Now in my mid twenties, married and in my own career, I still really enjoy your videos. Thank you for everything so far, I appreciate everything you do.

Congrats on 50k, fwiw! RE’s 650 twin is a lovely engine to use, which having ridden with you a few times I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Should provide some content as well. Hope you feel better soon Sandy, and ride safe. Cheers

Excellent news Sandy, I subscribed years ago and have very much enjoyed watching your travels, paragliding and camping but especially the bikes. I've had Harleys for over 25 years but got my First Royal Enfield (Meteor 350) in 2021. Swapped it for the Super Meteor 650 in Feb this year (Great bike) but then ended up in hospital with Myositis (Muscle wasting) and struggled with the extra weight so swapped it in September for a new 350 Bullet and I love it!! Long may you make videos to keep us all entertained. Best wishes to the family. Don't forget to wear the baseball cap as it makes you look younger!! 😜😜
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
Sorry to hear about the myositis, I must admit I do find the Vstrom a bit difficult to push around, easy to ride but it is a heavy bike.

PS I think the RE 350's J series engines are beautiful units

Hi. So for what it’s worth; on the mechanics of KZbin (channel analytics etc) - I came to your site via a mention of it by a Norwegian outdoors guy I subscribe to. I don’t subscribe to many channels however I subscribed to yours for a number of reasons. They are, in no particular order: I’m interested in m/cyles, bicycles, being out and about, and having traveled through your part of England it was good to get a deeper insight into the area. Your local info nuggets are interesting. Style-wise, I enjoy your relaxed presentation, honesty, sticking to the matters in hand without the need to pad videos out with fluff; also you’re not into flogging ‘merch’ as other channels often seem to do, almost as soon as their subscriber numbers hit double digits it appears. Perhaps too that we’re in a similar age bracket and your no nonsense approach appeals. Congrats on 50k.
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
Thankyou, I think your referring to Bjorn :) As soon as a KZbin channel reaches a certain size, the product manufacturers start to get an interest and try to send "Stuff". Sometimes it's OK but I found it a tie. I didn't want my channel to become a product review channel it's not about that for me. I do youtube mainly because I simply enjoy filming and sharing my experience. I've been through some rough times too and try and share my approach to life in the hope that it may help others out who are not perhaps in a good place. The saying goes "Spread a little Salt and light" to make the world a better place.
@norsecynnАй бұрын
@ yes it was Bjorn. 👍 I can imagine that there is a pressure that goes with getting stuff and I can understand if a KZbinr came across a good bit of kit that they would want to share its merits with viewers, my only dislike is when the promotions take over a channel and it becomes a focus that, for me, can shift a channel’s direction. Still whatever works for the content creators- I can always switch off. I’d say too that the light&shade you bring adds a reality that appeals. Your videos have the authentic feel, not merely productions just for the camera. I’d sum them up as honest and real, with wise words thrown in along the way for good measure. Keep them coming :-)

Congratulations on reaching 50k! I've been with you on your journey for many, many years and still enjoy your content. Loving the muted thud, Sandy 😊 You've got the right attitude to KZbin. I found you and subbed a few years back when searching for Coast to Coast videos and since I used to live in Wiltshire, the algorithm must've ranked yours highly. I've been on the internet discussion forums forever and long ago noticed what you say about the paucity of commenting - I have a 3% rule - only ~3% will comment.

Thats about the sum of it:) I think every motorcycle should make a muted thud:)) Loud roars bouncing of sleeping village cottage walls first thing in the morning just isn't right!!

Congratulations on reaching 50,000 subscribers and even bigger congratulations on getting your new Royal Enfield Motorcycle!!! I have often wondered in the past if you should be considering getting a motorcycle that would be somewhere between your Himalayan and V Strom Sandy. I always thought that the V Strom was more suitable for the open road with long stretches of straight lanes instead of the local winding roads that you so often travel on. And you did mention more than a few times that you wished for more power at times from your Himalayan. Now you appear to have the perfect solution. I am happy for you my friend. I am certain that you will get plenty of use and enjoyment from it. Thanks for sharing your Sunday with us, I will see you on the next one. Maybe we can meet the new addition to your motorcycle family?
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
Hahaa yes I'm sure I will introduce the new bike to the channel maybe in the next video Terry. The Interceptor 650 really is an Inbetween bike, It won't go off road like the Himalayan and it won't cruise at 100mph like the Vstrom (not that I ever cruise at 100mph mind you :) ) but the big bike doesn't get used so much unless I have a big trip planned which has only happened on a few occasions sofar.
@peterrobertson8141Ай бұрын

Hey Sandy, When you said that’s how a child would draw a bike it made me smile, as that’s what I often said about the Interceptor. I sold mine a couple of years ago and still miss it. I did a few upgrades including the air filter. I think you’ll love it, it’s a proper classic engine, surprisingly quick if needed. Get well soon!
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
Thanks Pete, I have ridden a couple of Interceptors over the years so I know how they ride and I know it will do the job well. I like the RE brand, they are affordable, last when cared for and cheap to run and fix:)

Thank you for sharing your insights and perspectives in a mostly positive way. Hope you're able to keep up on the content and outings in good health and spirits! Take care.

Chug has got to stay Jonathan, he is not worth nothing now as far as the bike dealers go, but I love the bike and all it's quirks. The Interceptor will be absolutely fine, more than enough power and the right styling for my needs, but I doubt I will ride it much until the better weather returns
@justanothermotorcyclistАй бұрын
Good choice - hope you have many happy miles! My other half bought an Interceptor 650 as her first bike - its sits very well alongside my 411 Himalayan in the garage. I take it out to quell the need for speed when the sun is out - and she borrows mine in the winter to tackle the mud and rain.

Well done Sandy. As you know, I reckon I've been watching both your channels almost from the start. Can't quite remember the callsign you used back then (G0...something or other). I've probably missed a few, but not many. Glad to see you going from strength to strength. I was out on my trike a while ago and another cyclist started talking to me about it, then he said, "I thought you might be Wiltshire Man!" So - you're a bit famous ! A friend of mine from Warminster has just traded in his Royal Enfield Interceptor - I'll ask him if it might be the same one. That would be funny. Take care - a few nice hot drinks and not so much talking! Love to everyone - see you soon. On three wheels perhaps? Noel
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
Hi Noel, Yes you're a Stalwart of the Channels Noel:) I love the Classic lines of the Interceptor, proper old school bike with modern reliability and performance. I shall be out on 2 and 3 wheel pedal machines in due course. For fun and smiles you cannot beat a Recumbent Trike and may even be necessary when the Wintery roads get slippery and Iced. :)

We all need a bit of escapism from time to time especially the way the world is at the moment. Thanks for commenting. It tells the "algorithm" that viewers are more engaged and in due process the "Algorithm" will promote the video more. I think thats how it works.

Well done on the 50k subs Sandy , well deserved. You haven’t had much luck with the lurgy that’s flying about 😂 I think the varied content you do really helps, and also being a jolly nice bloke. Onwards to that 100k mate atb Dave 👍

Good luck with the new bike Andy I know exactly what you mean about the bigger bike. Great for a long run or trip but a bit on the heavy side for routine rides. I enjoy your regular videos so keep up the good work. Hope your cold clears up soon I'm just about getting rid of mine cough cough!!😅

Well done on the 50 K Sandy. My friend, I keep a close eye on your videos mate and I try not to miss any bud. I find your content and the production top notch, very interesting and informative. Of course there is subject matter I like more that others, but I get a chance to interact with someone I may never get to meet in real life, and I enjoy that. So power to you Mr Sandy, you crack on mate. You'll need a bigger garage soon mate for all them bikes you got! Anyway mate best of health to you and yours, I hope that chesty chough clears up soon. Best regards and big thumbs up from Moose

Well done Sandy. 50k and still a great channel. Just bought an ICE Adventure recumbant trike, probably due to your own trike videos. Look forward to the warmer weather and more camping vids.
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
Hi Bill you will love the ICE. It's the most fun I've had on wheels, even better than riding a motorbike, but don't say I said that:)

Hello my new British friend. 1st time visiting your channel & subscribed. I am also subscribed to old school adv rider.from Bulgaria. He's also an Englishman. I too have a 411 Himalayan amongst 4 other bikes. My 2 guzzi's are getting a bit heavy now that I am 73 y.y... Also had a couple mild strokes recently, but doing ok now. Congratulations on your Royal Enfield purchase. I will be looking forward to seeing it in the future. Have a beautiful day! Cheers!!

Congratulations, Sandy, reaching 50k. You must look after yourself. I love watching your videos. Also, nice looking bike you have bought ,hope you enjoy the rides out on it,get well soon.

Hi Sandy, Congratulations at getting to 50k subscribers, I hope you enjoy the interceptor when you get it. I bought my Himalayan 411 new, back in March and I'm loving it. Ian at old school ADV really helped me out when it developed an electrical fault, which turned out to be too much grease in the relay connectors under the seat. It'll be interesting to see if you bond with the new bike as much as you have with Chug! Get better soon mate 😊
@WiltshireManАй бұрын
I think I will get on OK with the Interceptor, it is a known quantity for me having ridden several of them in the past. Its nice to have a bit of variety. Yes I heard about the white grease and cheap relays, its possible thats the reason why the first owner of the new bike sold it for all I know, anyway it's an easy and cheap fix.
