Hi Sandy, I was stationed at RAF Yatesbury just up the road from Avebury in 1960. Doing my NS. I bought a Triumph T110 (650cc) just before going into the RAF. I quite often rode up to Swindon on the week ends. Played Rugby for Calne. And I often rode over to Chippenham or Bath. A terrific area to be riding. I was posted to RAF Valley in Anglesey 1961 and that’s another story riding around Snowdonia every weekend. A Snowdonia with no traffic or tourists. I live in Bundaberg, Queensland now and still riding on my Bonnerville SE, or Bandit 1250. I really enjoy watching all your videos keep them coming ( I’m a cyclist too). …. Graham

Thats a brand new plate. He originally had a black plate that you can use on the older classic and vintage bikes but as his bike isn't old enough he had to fit this new plate!!

That registration number was bought and with the bike when I bought it. The bike is from 1994 and I had to remove the black and silver plate to comply with the MOT etc

@@colinmyler4092 interesting. I noticed it because the letter configuration is from my local area. I’m on the north coast of Northern Ireland. I know lots of our reg numbers are bought across the UK as they are dateless. The years are moved on by changes to the three-letters. For example ABZ becomes BBZ. Each of the six counties have their own second and third letter differences, with Belfast and Londonderry in addition each having their own.

Great to see you out on the Interceptor, it looks and sounds great. My 2020 model is also factory stock except for a touring seat and relay upgrade and it rides lovely. Stock pipes, stock suspension and all good 👍. I went out today for a ride out to Blackbushe Airport, Aviators cafe, nice day 👍👍. Not too far from you, Aldershot area, so we might cross paths.......😅

I think my motorcycling days might be done but oh, that road between Wroughton and Avebury ❤ Interesting stuff about the friction coefficient, and you can’t argue with the science, but of course the bigger story (when on two wheels) is the slimy leaf matter, agricultural vehicle mud, ice remaining in the shadowed corners, loose grit and oil/rubber residue floating on the road surface. Shudder. Enjoy it as long as you can, W.M.

Been to Avebury stone circle once in 1990. Took in Stonehenge the same day too. It was a magical day for me I'll never forget. I've always looked on Wiltshire as the ancient heart of England. The Interceptor purrs like a kitten.

That was brilliant Sandy. You have a cracking bike there and no mistake, a superb addition to your stable. The trials trim Bullet that was leading. Do you know what year it is a please, just curious and it sounded lovely especially when he gave it a handful in the tunnel. (We never grow up, do we; haha) I hope you don’t my my mentioning about the audio; you were discussing this with another commenter. I have a great deal of difficulty hearing speech; especially on the telly. What I generally do is put sub titles on. However I’ve noticed your channel and others too, to be fair, don’t have a subtitles option. I don’t mind getting old, it’s just that things don’t work as well as they did when I was young.

@WiltshireMan The 'Wild Atlantic Way' as its known nowadays. Sail into Rosslare, travel on to Cork and join the WAW there. The entire route is 1600 miles but you could the Cork/Kerry/Limerick section then head back to Rosslare. Plenty campsites and hospitality along the way. Good value too with the sterling difference.

Yes Dewi, I have been shut in the workshop a bit recently, The Bear looks interesting but Dickie says they have raked out the steering head angle a bit to make it more stable, however I really like the quick steering nature of the Interceptor. I did have to clean and reapply acf50 to the bike, so I think I shall be riding the Himalayan a bit more when road conditions are poor

To combat condensation I just open the visor a crack and that does the trick. I shall probably put the Vstrom and the Interceptor away during the bad days and only ride the Himalayan.

You’re so lucky to live relatively close to it. I once thought of swapping my flat for one in Swindon because it’s also close to Silbury Hill. I feel connected somehow to Silbury. But the only offers I got were from a huge high rise. I think it’s the only one in Swindon. Didn’t like the look of it so I’m staying in London for now. Anyway… waffle over. Hi Sandy, regarding the condensation, i use a tube heater screwed to a length of decking board and lay between the wheels with a bike cover. Keeps bike dry and only about 120 watts, also has built in thermostat so only turns on when needed 😀

My bike is stored in a large open garage with large windows and vents. This last week the bike has been soaking wet from condensation as is the car. I have tried various covers to no effect, condensation still forms on the bike. I also have a steel bike box in the garage for the push bikes. The cycles are the only items which remain dry

I’ll tell you folks what I use is wax oil, clean engine oil sprayed on with my spray gun, 70% wax oil and 30% clean engine oil, this is applied after the bike has had a good wash. I leave the bike covered in this and just before a tide out I wipe all the Ike off with a soft cloth. The bike then looks showroom ready. 😊🏍🏍🏍🏍
