In terms of first XI, we only need a right winger. Mbuemo for me as he's a workhorse and can play as a striker too. Keep Wilson for his remaining year and let him go next summer for free. He can still do a job and would be very expensive to replace right now. Back-ups (long-term replacements) for Pope and Schar must be brought in. Almiron (not good enough), Targett (surplus), and Trippier (past it) all out. The money these bring in on top of whatever the club already has to spend will easily pay for the 3 in-comings. That squad would get us top 4 next season which is the most pressing objective. If we don't get Champions League qualification next season, Bruno will be away. And Isak and Gordon may follow him. That would be an insurmountable regression and we can't afford for it to happen. Which is why, incidentally, selling Minteh before June 30 could prove essential. No-one else is courting interest right now and his sale alone could prevent any potential points deductions which would hinder our top 4 hopes.

I don’t think it's a secret Newcastle are build a frightening team, I believe the so called big six are under enormous financial restrictions, Chelsea, Man City and United, Arsenal and even Liverpool, all need to ship player's out before they can buy, the likes of Chelsea need that more than most and they don't have long enough to do that, on the other hand we just need to sell maybe one more player, although Newcastle have spent a bit of cash they have already sold A.S.M. and have cleared out many player since the take over. I only know this because I know an accountant who is football crazy, he studies sports finances and he has not biased in any way whats so ever, so he usually bores me to death sometimes.

It's based on what the club have spent over the last 3 seasons and what the club have received, which is easy enough to estimate at least within a ball park. And remember Darren Eales' January video where he said as much. It's not strictly speaking "debt" it's just avoiding that situation where your net spend is more than the £105 million limit over 3 seasons and suddenly you get deducted points. That could be devastating for clubs like Everton and Forest but not the worst scenario in the world for Newcastle, at least while we're still in building phase. Would you rather sell Minteh or take a 4-point deduction?

Personally, I think we probably do need to find some money but how much is the question? Some say £25m. I know there’s this opaqueness to PSR for obvious reasons but there been a lot of lazy journalism with the PSR thing. Minteh is a hell of a prospect but that’s all the moment. I’m the kind of soft daftie who never wants to sell any of our players but Minteh at the moment doesn’t seem like he’d be better than Murph. He could coculd bomb, you know. It does happen. (This from someone who put a certain Portuguese European young player of the season on his shirt before he’d even played for us once).

@@geordiedog1749 PSR is a bit imbalanced in that if you sell someone for £40 million that's £40 million knocked off your net spend for the next deadline, but if you buy someone for £40 million you can spread it over 5 seasons, so you're only adding £8 million to your spend for the next deadline. That's why Everton and Villa and Villa and Chelsea and (nearly) Newcastle and Everton are selling each other players at inflated prices, it helps them stay under the PSR limit without their squad becoming smaller.

I disagree we are one of the big 4 get your facts right. The only reason we are not is because these people bought there way in FACT. Tottenham, city, Chelsea all bought their way in and had Ashley never set foot in Newcastle things would have been different. If the city tribunal or whatever it's called is succesful its good for Newcastle and I think the anti-competitive rules will change and allow for more investment. Newcastle in my opinion may have not had the results but we are a bigger team then those you mention.
