When we get a license or renew one, we have to do a little eye test. If we can’t pass it, we either don’t get a license or we do it again with our glasses/contacts. If someone needs glasses and doesn’t have any, they can’t get a license until they get corrective lenses. For years, I had glasses because I’m nearsighted but it wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t do the eye test so there was no notation on my license about corrective lenses. As I’ve gotten older, my eyesight has gotten worse so I now have the notation on my license.
