Yep. I think this the GS Mini I'm going to pick up. I've had the mahogany for about 8 years now. Beautiful! Once again, THANK YOU for showing just the direct signal. Definitely helps out.

It's a great guitar! It sounds amazing amped, very comfortable and the finish is attractive as heck. I totally lucked out and won one this past week. The new guitar smell is lovely. Been jamming on it daily and it is waking/opening up wonderfully!!!

I've always been a fan of travel size guitars just because I myself have a smaller stature and I believe this will be the guitar I take home soon. I love the sound that rosewood gives the guitar and that colorway is just too beautiful to pass up. Reminds me of the specialty The Last of Us guitar that Taylor came out with a while back, only thing that stopped me from buying it was the size so this is a perfect guitar to accommodate the sound I'm looking for with the visual I also enjoy. Thanks for the review!

I'm getting that cause i'm a "mini" person. Lol. I'm 4'9, super petite and been playing guitar since I was in 6th grade in 2006. I had the 814ce in tobacco but had a rough time financially so we had to sell it. I would love to get my hands on this.

I was surprised with how this guitar brought out some different styles of playing from you. It sounds like it inspired you to go off in different directions. Great job with showing us what this instrument is capable of. I think this is right up there with the Koa Plus model with the looks department and I think it sounds better. I love the satin finish and the fact that Taylor did their nice fretboard inlays along with the ES2. Home run for Taylor!

Question… do all 3 es2 knobs have a detent in the middle position or just 2 of them? On mine it’s just 2

Yes, all three have a detent on current models. Could be they didn’t put a detent on the volume knob at one point and then made a revision to the hardware.

@@tarpley-music I also get a mechanical buzz from around where the circuit board is when playing the low e. Might should return it for service. Unfortunately I threw out the box

Thank you James! Is the "In the mix" sound with all gear or just DI? I think that Neve gear is quite lovely and intimate sounding on this guitar. Adding the DI really improved the bass response, and I'd even boost the DI in combination with the ribbon mic and preamp for the finger-picking example. I've got one of these reserved for me at the local guitar shop. The shop owner was even surprised that it's ALL SOLID WOOD - not liked the LAYER back & sides as in the other minis. I need a short scale for these old-timer's hands that also had surgery on my left hand to repair severed tendons. Needless to say, I have to finger most chords in a strange way. Heck, if Django could do it - why not me? I'm looking forward to getting mine back into my home studio. I've got a hi-end Taylor 2011 Limited Macassar Ebony GS as well, but I think this mini will bet a lot of playing and recording as well. It has a very "focused" sound IMO.

Yes! We used the ribbon, condenser, and direct mics on this guitar for the mix section. The levels were pretty well balanced on all three as well. It felt like it just captured a nice, round sound for the guitar. Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new guitar!

Did you get a custom made version? This is listed everywhere with layered back and sides. Only the top is solid.

@@JR-kx8hy The 50th Edition is the key here... No layered wood in this mini, unlike the rest of the line. That convinced me to buy this model.

Playability should be the same. For the tone, the Koa has a little more fullness in the midrange and will also be a little brighter in the treble.

I’ve owned both, the rosewood sounds better than the koa.
