Total props off hand shooting. Great job. Anyone who can off hand any air rifle at fifty yards is a great shooter. You may want to try some JTS pellets. They don't dent as easy as JSB pellets. The 16g and 18g work great in most my PCP air rifles. BUT you know finding the BEST pellet is very barrel specific and requires some work. Thanks
@rapalaron6348Ай бұрын
Agree, good off hand shooters deserve respect. I'm pretty sure that nine of ten bankrest shooters don't nail those cans on 50 yards with 10 shots.

Thanks! I’ve been wanting to film a video like this for a while but I needed the right weather conditions (no wind) and right frame of mind. I was uncertain how it was going to work out but finally decided to just do it with the camera rolling and see what happens. I’ve got some JTS pellets on order, I’d actually ordered them yesterday as the price was reasonable and Amazon had them. I believe they were the 18gr ones. My Air King doesn’t seem to like the 21gr JTS pellets I have. I’ve also got some Benjamin pellets coming. The exact die or whatever they are called.

Good stuff. Yes, you defuniitely caught the 1 st can.Nice shots, the Airking is a piece of kit. I ve a AA Prosport in 22, I find it a lump to shoot offhand.But my first air rifle was in 1962 so I guess thats OK. I like Crosman pellets out to about 25 yds, but after that JSB exacts get me better results. Bad side to that is they cost almost double the Crosmans over here. On to putting the 362 back together today...Did find why there were so many flyers, still not sure which route to take with it. All the best and thanks again. Keith
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
Thanks! I’m starting to transition more over to .177 cal just due to cost. I shoot so much that pellets start adding up. I know firearms guys would laugh at someone complaining about the cost of pellets but they have gone up in price a noticeable amount in the pat three years. The JSB pellets are ridiculously expensive most of the time, plus Alaska isn’t eligible for free shipping from Pyramid. So when they have those great offers on pellets it doesn’t matter, they screw us over on shipping. I’m kinda thinking there is too much flex and movement in the 362 platform. While I don’t know that for certain, I suspect during pumping the barrel moves around a slight amount and shifts the POI. I need to play around more with my 100th 362 as it feels stiffer and more solid with the wood stock but I noticed it struggles to shoot pellets out at long ranges like 50 yds without tons of drop.

I’m thinking that’s when I’m doing my best shooting, just getting into a flow at a faster pace. But then I also want to add in some commentary and have interaction with viewers so the video doesn’t seem so stale. Perhaps that doesn’t matter? 🤷♂️ I watch all kinds of videos, but I do notice myself fast forwarding airgun shooting videos that are boring without much going on. Shooting isn’t the easiest type of subject to showcase in an engaging way. My wife always makes fun of me when she’s sees some of the airgun videos I watch. 🤣😂
@scavengernick3191Ай бұрын
@airgunsofalaska hahaha yeah my wife does that too 😅. I'm getting bored of "this a rifle, those are pellets" type of video. If it shoots straight and the pellets match, it's time for more skill and less talk 😉.

@ I agree! I now watch other airgun channels with the critical eye of a creator and realize there often isn’t a lot of substance at times with new gun reviews. Some channels do an excellent job but others are just going through the motions and I could glean the same information far more quickly just reading the description on the website. 🤣

@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
Thanks! Good to hear you enjoyed it. 😄 Funny how all those factors add pressure. You want to film a video on the shorter side, trying to get it done before it gets too dark, wanting to have action showing hits plus interacting with viewers through the process so you don’t just look like a mute weirdo with a gun. 😂🤣

Nice offhand shooting with the Airking brother. Definitely the best suited air rifle for that style of shooting at 50 yds given its added weight and anti recoil action for stability
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@greg4161 it worked really well! I was surprised at how poorly I was doing with my model 34. I just need to practice with it a lot more shooting offhand as it is plenty accurate. It’s kind of amazing to see how much springer type recoil can negatively affect accuracy. Aside from the ease and speed of the cocking and firing action with a traditional springer, it kind of makes me wonder why they are so popular? A pneumatic is much easier to shoot.
@greg4161Ай бұрын
Sure, as we know springers are inherently less accurate than a pneumatic, but I'm good with that as long as I know that my springer barrel has a good pellet to bore fit. Once that's determined, I can only blame myself for inconsistent groupings, then it challenges me to perfect the hold the rifle requires to attain that perfect bullseye. That to me is very gratifying
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@greg4161 That’s a good point. I also forgot about the beauty of a springer providing consistent shot to shot velocities compared to an unregulated PCP. I guess I have so many guns in my collection and shoot different types all the time, I’ve not gelled with the majority of my springers. I did get a sense of that feeling you described with my CFX, but that was all from a rest. I’ve not seriously tried to shoot it offhand.
