I liked the Mesas best. They weren't as bright as the chinese ones, but they had a nice low end. The ehx ones honestly just sounded a little dull to me. In a mix, though, I doubt I could pick out a differences. The bass and cymbals would mask the subtleties.

The Mesa 12AX7A Russian 2 in this video is just a rebranded EHX 12AX7, the difference between them is their testing, screening, and selection standards. The EHX tubes can be pretty crapshoot in terms of quality and tonality. Some of them sound quite good, while others sound dull. The Mesa branded EHX 12AX7 sound more balanced simply because Mesa tests, screens and selects the best quality EHX 12AX7 tubes for re-branding. If you want the same level of testing, screening and selection standards as Mesa then buy from vendors like Tube Depot, Tube Amp Doctor, or Tube Store. Of course if you're willing to spend high then you can choose more premium vendors like RAM Tube Works, Upscale Audio, Grant Fidelity, or Sophia Electric who use military, or even clinical standards for the tubes sold by them, those vendors blow Mesa into weeds.

The noname China is a vintage "Beijing" one, the old factory name for the china's tubes. Those had a square getter, and a better tone imho than the actual Shuguang

Nowhere unfortunately, they are no longer manufactured for years, the closest are the Shuguang, maybe you should try the TAD's chinese

Что то я не понял, как отличить "Shugang" от "Beijing" только по звуку ? На видео, кстати, эти лампы сильно поюзаные (у меня есть несколько штук таких, неплохие лампы, мне показалось, что даже лучше чем JJ) Такие лампы много где стоят в стоке (точно ставились в Krank rev jr и 5150, видимо из за их дешевезны) 12ax7 Shugang на Алике полным-полно.

Try out an RCA 12au7 in V1 and V2. It will smooth out an EVH 5150 amp and it still has lots of gain just WAY BETTER cleans, and channel 2 and 3 are so much more usable in tbeir gain settings and ultra quiet on the red channel no hiss, no fizzy distortion just pure ROCK-N-ROLL very G-N-R tones like Sweet Child O Mine lead tone!

Something weird is happening with this test. It's seems not consistent. In different parts of the clips, different ones sound thicker (or thinner) than in other parts. At the beginning, the Mesa sounds thicker in the bottom, and then later it's the EHX or Chinese. Something ain't right!

Quizás no tenga buen oído, pero incluso con auriculares, no llego a notar una diferencia significativa. En realidad no escucho diferencia alguna. Probé RCA nos, jj gold, Mullard nos, y varias marcas y siempre he sentido diferencias, pero aca no puedo notarlo. Saludos!

If you are going to play like that everything is going to sound pretty much the same.Play some leads and play high notes and let it sustain thats when you going to notice a huge difference.Some are super trebely and some dark and muddy you cant hear that if you just play a metal riff over and over again.

Eh tubes...clear , deep low-ends and powerful. Then mesa then noname chinese tubes less powerful
