Hello Russ, Im from that itty bitty island in the united kingdom and within called England. I used to fly for a living but now i'm retired I swopped to drone flying. I invested in a few Drones and all from DJI. Mavic Pro 2, zoom, air 2 and the mini. None of which are any good without instruction. After watching you for a little over a year (eyes getting tired !) I have gleamed so much information from you and cannot thank you enough. You are truly a great ambassador for these drones. I was used to taking off from big runways and now vertically from a field!! Well done you and a huge thank you for a great common sense easy to follow tutorials. All the best to you.

I made a decision to buy my second drone. I have a HolyStone HS720 that I got as a gift. I flew it for 4 months and ran into an issue after upgrading my phone where the app it used was useless except for providing live video of the camera. It wouldn't save flight data, show the map location, or allow me to use features IE: point of interest orbit or tap fly (an automatic flight path drawn by way points) After two weeks of emailing their customer service, which was phenomenal BTW, they have excellent customer support, it was discovered that the app was not compatible with the OS of my new phone and I would need to wait for the app to be upgraded in the future to use any of the features. So....after watching your videos and numerous others, I decided to buy the Air 2 and I can't wait for it to arrive in the next couple of days. Thank you for your content and honest reviews, tutorials, and tips. I always look forward to your new videos.

Just watched your Beginners video. The RTH height tip and feature description is excellent. I watched a neighbor unbox a new drone and take off with no preparation. He took off from his tree-covered deck and flew horizontally until he cleared the massive oak tree surrounded by his deck and then climbed and flew around. When he returned to home, the drone descended straight down into that tree where it chewed itself tightly into the twigs and still sits to this day. The ND filter segment is a great introduction also. My Mavic Air 2 is on its way and I subscribed to your channel.

I got this drone coming from a RC helicopter background and I have to say what a DREAM it is to fly this. Flying a heli as a beginner is a nightmare, the Air 2 is a freaking Cadillac with air shocks lol. When I would do tight maneuvers with it near objects the drone would not let me crash it, the proximity sensors completely take over it's annoying but awesome at the same time. Absolutely love this drone right now.

Thanks for the info on Freewell PL/ND8. No one seems to show how to set best the polarize. The Mavic 2 Pro PL/ND8 has a white mark to best setting. Without glare it does not seem to matter. I tried to just set the mark to straight up top. This gives me bluest sky and nice green trees using normal auto mode with a slight EV adjustment. Some have said to just look through lens for best condition before installing on the camera. Also PL/ND 16 looks great too in late afternoon even towards the sun with sun still fairly high in the sky. Maybe a video with detail on setting the polarizer would be most helpful. I can of course use trial and error method.

I have the Polar Pro vivid collection 8/16/32 ND/PL. So far they have worked well in bright conditions as well as shooting into the sun (sunrise/sunset video) Still trying to find the best efficiency for setting the right click on the nob for filter control. I second an upcoming video on fine tuning the controls for best use of each nd filter and polarization...maybe it's been covered in your previous videos, but adjusting clicks for optimal polarization is super helpful.

Russ great work on your quick tips videos. I just purchased a used Mavic Air 2 with fly more combo locally in my area. I had already watched many videos like I did for my Mavic Mini and just upgraded to a Mini 2 and sole the Mini this last spring. I also just purchased the smart controller and that might have been a stretch for the Mini2 but with both drones it is great. May seem silly to have two drones but I think I will still use them both. As always keep up the great work on your channel.

Hey Man nice video and tips. I’m a beginner myself and you taught me about those nd filters so thanks! One thing I think you got wrong. I already crashed my MA2 because I had it in sport mode and the sensors are off in that mode. I would recommend all beginners to STAY CLEAR of sport mode for that reason. Surprised you recommended it because it was fun. My only issue with this video. Still appreciate your knowledge. Keep the videos coming! Thanks.
@gooberminther3tik254 жыл бұрын
I dont believe he recommended it. He simply said he likes Sport Mode. And you should have known Sport mode is not for beginners. Sport mode is for open air ONLY, or for fighter pilot action during which time you'll crash and burn. In my opinion, pt A to pt B in Sport mode, with B being your area of camera action and switch to Tripod or Normal Mode.

Just to add a comment re your RTH statements. When I bring the drone home and am trying to land on a boat for example, I let it descend down to about 20 feet up, then cancel RTH, and turn the drone to Tripod mode and manually and slowly bring it in for a precise landing. Just another note....

Great Video. I've been watching all your Mavic Air 2 videos. Bought mine 2 weeks ago. Loving it and your advice and guidence. One question if you would help me with the answer. On my drone screen on my iphone and ipad mini ....the circle at the bottom is not an arrow or ship that tells me what direction I'm headed. There is only Red stuff and I have no idea what it means. How can I get my arrow going like yours. I'd love to see a video that helps you fly using the screen. You know instrumental flying. Of course I know I need to have eye contact but still it would be nice to know when you do loose sight. Thanks for everything. Tom

In one of your videos you mentioned the camera “panning” left or right. I thought you said to swipe the screen to turn it, but I can’t figure out how to pan left or right..
@mirosawawczys45014 жыл бұрын
In your filter comparison, didn't you compare Freewell ND8 to Pgytech ND8 polarizer? Polarizer, depending how you adjust it, will darken the scene (this is what you experienced). ND8 polarizer is true ND8 when polarizing effect is turned off. If you turn it for max polarization it may be equivalent to ND16 or more. Saying that it is pgytech inaccuracy is inaccurate.

Hey Russ... Appreciate the info on the ND filters. Did order the full set of Freewell filters for my MA2. It came with DJI's ND 16, which is a bit dark. Will have to turn on the histogram and check the shutter speed and ISO settings. Forgot to do that. Would like to say my first two flights with the MA 2 were good, but not so. Even after updating the firmware, per DJI's suggestion, still get a lag in the video capture. So annoying. Not sure what to do at this point. All was not lost though. Pulled out my 2Pro, and had much more fun. Any idea about the lagging video? Will check out your friend Mike's info on ND filters. Cheers....
@healthstartshere6664 жыл бұрын
@Tony Owen Not sure what kind of lag you are getting, but the H.256 codec does not play nicely with some computers and causes an unacceptable stutter during playback. Something to check.

Hey Russ, love the videos. I just ordered my very first drone at 59. I subscribed to your channel as, I really like the way you explain things. You are a very good speaker, and easy to listen to. I am searching for an adapter for my wife's ipad and noticed you using one in this video. Which one is it and will I need a lanyard to hold it up or is it light enough to handle for 30 mins. I saw two types of lanyards, one that holds the side of the ipad and one that holds on to the ipad support itself, which in my mind would interfere with the controller. Thanks.
