Something that some other shooters have noticed with the large plenum, is that you must wait for the plenum to fill after each shot. Waiting between shots made the velocity deviation extremely small. So at distance a small difference in velocity will certainly spread the group. Nice shooting and I hope I can save up the coins to get a maverick.

I like the combination of the 580cc tank with the Compact! Also, I like the fact that this is a practical man's hunting gun and not a dedicated and elaborate bench queen. I'm considering a Maverick Compact in .25 slugger. My first iteration Wildcat loves 34 grain Varmint Knockers, as do I! ... Do you think there's room to mount a twin 580cc tank configuration on a Compact?

The only downfall when shooting the maverick or impact at 100 + yards with pellets is the plenum takes a long to refill so you will get flyers. If you give it an extra few more seconds between shoots it will tighten up the group quite a bit. Slugs do better but they also benefit from waiting for the plenum to fully refill. It's the same thing with my wildcat compact .33 I added a plenum too. I shoot all compacts. I'm a fanboy. I noticed the people that call us fanboys have never owned or shot an FX. Some hate FX so much they pretend to own one and say that their 800 dollar AEA challenger bullpups or some other sub-1000 dollar airgun shoot better. They're not being honest. Those AEA airguns are not very accurate. Even with some of the top shooters here on KZbin watching them shoot. It's nothing but flyers. They're powerful that's about it. You have this in every sport or hobby. There are always some narcissists who can't afford something and will bag on it out of jealousy. Anyway. Sorry about the rant. I just thought it was funny you mentioned it, lol. Nice shooting, sir.

I think the tanto will fit but I used the 0db moderator with my compact and 580

I have a new .30 VP. With FX 44.8 grains I got one ragged hole at 50 yards with a cheap scope. Love the gun !
