I remember watching this 14 years ago when I was 14. I dreamed about having one of these, now I have had one for about a year and it just sits in my garage. Haven’t even registered it yet...life is strange. Or maybe I just am. I want that pipe!!

I watched this video on the day I bought mine 525sx... worked like described, and every single time from then I am starting it this way. I developed a muscle memory :D what I like the most, you can feel it where he is and when it's going to fire up. And now it hurts me to see how people try to kickstart 4 stroke like 2 stroke. I forgot that I have electric starter :D hahahha Best regards man !

This vid has helped a noob learn how to kickstart. I tried a few times going by the manual (fuel, choke, kick) and couldn't start it. Re-watched this vid and used this technique... got it! Thank you!

These were the 17" Maxxis Goldspeed series of tires...... They were a rain tire made for Supermoto and sold in Europe many moons ago.... There were a bunch brought here to the USA and there were an excellent tire as there were many different compounds and tread patterns if you really looked hard to find em. They worked great as a flat Track tire and off road were pretty darned capable If you really were a good rider.

I only know german, french, spanish, and understand portugese, sorry(and english of course :P ). But look what he does, with his left hand. He uses the lever for the decompression, kicks the kicker 3 times WITH the pulled lever, stops pulling the leaver, searches the upper dead center WITHOUT the decompression, then he pulls the lever again, to come over the upper dead center, lets the kicker come to the highest possible position, and kicks... Looks easy, but... Good luck :]

None of the SX or SMR bikes have electric start from the factory with the RFS motor. ALL 400/450/525 SX/SMR can be retrofitted for E-start though. EXC & MXC bikes are electric start as are XC and SX & SMR bikes with the newer twin cam motor.

all you need to do in england is register it for road tax , loads of us use (off road bikes )taxed for road use, you dont need indicators in this country , or even a head light ,( day time use ) brake light is a must , my bike is a ktm 520 road legal firkin wheelie machine with both sets of wheels moto , or off road , tap ktm in on computer sure you will find what you are looking for , laters . or i,ll sell ya mine for 3,000 pounds lol .

Not complicated, this is standard starting procedure for majority of Big Bore bikes! Unless you have legs like the HULK your not gonna kick it over without using the DECOMPRESSION lever! KTM's are great bikes and i can'r fault mine at all! Starts first time every time and hauls arse!! The only downside i can see to owning a ktm is cost, but I understand excellence aint cheap!

Is there a street version of this KTM 525, I mean, with little headlights, turn signals, and a license plate spot but that could be undressed and look just like this one?? Which are the best street version bikes best suited to be transformed into a motard just by removing parts and not by adding some?

Awesome bike ! I also drive a KTM Supermoto at the moment, but it´s a 125... Next year, the 525 comes for Enduro and Supermoto. =) Didn´t know about the bigbore Kit with the higher compression. So maybe you should write it into your information of the bike, cause then, many persons wouldn´t say that you´re to old ! By the way, what´s your age ? Greets from Germany. Philipp

I second the JD jet kit. I have one in my 2005 525sx. It made a huge difference. BUT even more important is the WATER WET or ICE coolant. The Austrian motor will run much cooler and make even more power. Mine does. Check out my video "Crapo hill".
