Dunn Creek Campground has 13 sites and There is a boat ramp and launching dock with day-use parking at this area. Recreational opportunities include a basketball hoop, a small campfire-talk amphitheater. Vault toilet onsite.
Campground is located on the East side of the Kootenai River approx 3 miles below Libby Dam!
Lake Koocanusa is a reservoir in British Columbia (Canada) and Montana (United States) formed by the damming of the Kootenay River by the Libby Dam in 1972. The Dam was formally dedicated by President Gerald Ford on August 24, 1975.[1,
The lake is formed north of the dam, reaching 48 miles (77 km) to the Canada-United States border and 42 miles (68 km) further into British Columbia. The lake holds 13% of the water in the Columbia River system. The town of Rexford was moved, as well as the Great Northern Railway line. The town of Waldo, British Columbia is now covered by the lake. What was once a barrier to river travel, Jennings Canyon is now inundated by the lake.[2] The Elk River joins the Kootenay River in the northern part of Lake Koocanusa, within Canadian territory.
Lake Koocanusa was named in a contest won by Alice Beers of Rexford, Montana[citation needed]. The name is made from the first three letters of the Kootenay (alternately, Kootenai) River, Canada, and USA.
Lake Koocanusa was built as a joint project of the U.S. and Canada. It is 26 km (16 mi) from Libby, Montana, also on the Kootenai River, from which the dam gets its name. Libby Dam has a Visitors Center and can be accessed by the Lake Koocanusa Scenic Byway which begins in the nearby town of Libby, Montana.
The Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail follows Highway 37 along the east side of the lake before crossing over the Lake Koocanusa Bridge and climbing up Webb Mountain.

As always, a fun and interesting video. Just a kind suggestion Sharon, the standard intro is getting a little old. It is to long as well. At first I really liked it. Now I find myself skipping though it every time I play a new video. Safe travels y’all.

The word Kootenai, pronounced KOOT-nee, or KOOT-nay, depending on which side of the US-Canadian border you are on, refers to the Native American people of the region. They were originally called the Ksunka, meaning "People of the Standing Arrow." To them, standing arrow meant strength, unity and dexterity.

How do you'll keep your refrigerator cold while driving from one place to another? Do you have a 2 way or 3 way? I know you have a generator.
@NomadicRamblersAdventures
@NomadicRamblersAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
It's just an electrical residential fridge and we run the generator if we're going to be driving you know two or three hours other than that it keeps things cold.

OK Google it would be nice if you would put a date and time you were at certain areas it seems that you can jump from one part of the country to the other part of the country and nothing but a day and I know Montana is bigger than that

Ok, our videos are about 2 weeks behind for our safety. We haven't moved very far. We are in west Yellowstone now. We did stop in Butte for a week. We camped at Homestake Pass. 😁
