I was discussing with my friend about some so-called tactical self-defense stuff today, and while the moves are fine, the way they demonstrated them are not. I'm so tired of the instructor showing the moves with the students/partners like they are robot, with their POWER OFF! No one moves that way and no one fight that way. That's why I truly admire Lyte Burly. The way he shows us the move let us see a clear picture of how it's gonna work with a live opponent. This is the real deal! SALUTE!

Skull and Bones perfect for defending extended finger jabs to the eyes in a street fight and Read The Book great to counter a palm strike attack to the face that is normally a pawed shot due to the tensed forearm when thrown with fingers in a raked fashion! Perfect showcase of defense techniques that would counter unconventional and dangerous kinds of attacks besides punches! Salute to 52 Blocks under Lyte Burly for demonstrating the most street-smart defense techniques!

This is what i was tellin a guy! The Jail house style as we used to call it in the 80s could be used to attack and defend and attack off ya counter! AND YOU COULD EITHER be real slick and show a person they cant touch you but you could touch them! Or you could be all out aggressive and touch them at any time! we used to call it the 101 jail house moves! yall call it the 52 today!

Not surprising to see the same principles or movements show up across different styles and cultures. When you get down to it, the human body only has so many ways it can move. For example, unless someone is multi-jointed (i.e. double or triple), an individual's arm and elbow are going to have the same range of motion naturally anywhere in the world. So in developing fighting skills, people are dealing with the same potential movements no matter where they are.

Becaues its ghetto boxing based at the end of the day. Muay thai boxer will go for your legs, quick clinch to knee your side or just elbow you the whole time. BJJ obviously will do submission if you get to close or just go for your legs. Russian sambo which also uses Soviet defensive boxing also will try to ground you or strat the kick boxing process. Dont me wrong, blocking with elbows in basic muay thai defense and it's good for close quarters fighting but as far as the MMA you have to mix it up

The key to prevailing in war is to divide the opponent's attention. As Sun Tzu said: If the enemy is defending everywhere, he is weak everywhere. Imagine if one mixed up the 52 blocks with some slick footsweeps for instance, like what you see in Judo, Muay Thai, and the like. Even just staggering them, breaking their rhythm, and upsetting the foundation beneath the house, will open up many new opportunities and applications...
