Excellent introduction to P53! A lot of information coming very fast, so I had to listen to it a couple of times to get it all. I have a P53 question that you might want to do a video on. There is a company (OncoSenX) that has has a therapy using a DNA plasmid to identify cells that are transcriptionally active for P53, then uses caspase 9 to induce apoptosis. Their claim is to be able to reduce the volume of human cancer tumors in immune compromised mice by 90%, in 48 hours, with a single dose and no toxic side effects. How might this work? What proteins would they look for? How to determine the proper signalling level? How to trigger caspase 9? How does the plasmid accomplish this? etc.

Rick Davis, Wow that sounds like a very intelligent question, did you get anywhere with this?

@@garvintimmann No, I didn't get anywhere with this. The bulk of what Eleanor does is analyze published papers and give some context. The company that developed this technology, OncoSenX, is not going to write a paper because they are protecting their IP. Since Eleanor is a P53 subject matter expert, I thought she might be interested in shedding some light on what they were doing, and if it was a promising technology. OncoSenX hasn't gotten very far with this since the beginning of the pandemic, and is having difficulty raising funds for phase 1 trials. Their lack of progress might be because there is something wrong with the technology that I don't see.

They are amino acid abbreviations. R = arginine. H = histidine

@TheSheekeyScienceShow Thank you for your reply,I have another question. 🙏 so does it mean at position 337 the arginine mutates to histadine, or it means before postion 337 there's a R and after there's a H?
