One more thing, when Amanda Young wakes up in the house, she sits up and her hands IMMEDIATELY go to her head as if she's checking to see if she has the reverse bear trap on her head again.
@Xehanort103 жыл бұрын
And Saw III would go into how much the traps and helping John had traumatised her. Because even though she stopped taking drugs she started cutting herself and she eventually realised that her survival hadn't made her appreciate and cherish her life like John had told her it would. Because of her guilt for her mistake with Adam's key leaving him no way to escape his shackle in the bathroom she went there and suffocated him. I think that's what her inescapable traps in III were about. Her belief was that the survivors of the traps wouldn't change so it was best to put them out of their misery in her mind. The more the Saw series goes on the more it becomes obvious that it's John targeting people for doing things he doesn't like or people he has personal issues with and the whole "Cherish your life" thing is just him twisting the well meaning motto of Jill's drug rehab clinic into a sick justification for his actions.

This might have been a purposeful thing, 1. I’m pretty sure Amanda’s trap was publicly talked about after it happened, 2. Amanda was in the nerve gas house to protect the 16 yo boy (can’t remember his name atm) and she wasn’t there to be put in a trap.

@@desicatedlimbs8096 Actually, yes. Amanda's act of going back to the bathroom to asphyxiate Adam was 100% a mercy kill. The thought of leaving Adam there to die, alone, in the dark, was to much for her(at that moment). She couldn't save him, as it would absolutely undermine John(not leaving him alone to die is undermining him too, but to a much lesser of a degree than sparing one of his test subject, full stop). So, in her eyes, killing Adam before he succumbs to dehydration/starvation was a non negotiable mercy kill and act of kindness from her to him. (Could also have something to do with her just haphazardly throwing the key/key light in the bathtub, as opposed to securing it like John had asked. Basically saying that, on top of the thought of Adam rotting away in the dark eating away at her core, she may feel a layer of guilt on top of the pity, as her actions were the reason Adam may not have had a chance to escape. *MAY* )

Yes, Daniel starts spitting blood near the end of the game, but does it necessarily mean that he didn't receive an antidote? Couldn't he experience some bad effects of the gas, even if he was already treated from the start? Jigsaw needs Daniel to stay alive for Matthew's game, so I guess that he would want to maximize his chances of survival (even if he put him in a particularly dangerous place lol).

It makes sense, that Americans therefore have taken usage of both variants of spelling. Assuming the "new world" migration (which were mostly exiled religious ze^lots), in the 1600s, it makes sense there would be a carry on to this. But what is wrong is three T's in Matthew. Oh my god this channel is amazing. The level of depth yoy put into each movie is spectacular. I'm a big fan of the franchise and I love seeing this kind of content on KZbin. On the other side, I've always felt conflicted towards this saga final chapter. Mainly because of the character of Jill. She actively participated in the later games because John wanted to show her an alternate method to her rehabilitation clinic which was causing people to only change their addictions not to lose them. Then she does everything John asks from her and instead of asking Gordon to save her from Hoffman, John asks him to do something only after Jill gets hurt, so she dies having learned nothing. It's John only faithful servant up until that point and she fucking dies. Brutally and unfairly. Furthermore, we see images of Gideon's tomb during her death like she's being punished by John from beyond the grave for losing their child (which he blamed her for before according to Saw IV). None of this ever felt right to me. Like it's the only piece of the puzzle that doesn't fit, it feels like John lost the game in the end, but at the same time Hoffman got locked in the bathroom so John won anyway? I don't know. I want to think Jill tried to kill Hoffman without following John instructions and that's why Hoffman doesn't get a key for the Reverse Bear Trap 2.0 and that's why she was being fairly punished by John and why he does't tell Gordon to save her. It's like that's what I want to believe because it would make Jill's fate feel fair but there's nothing to back this up. We never see Jill actively sabotaging Hoffman's trap, it's all speculation. Could you talk about this in one of your videos? I think you could help me and others clarify this arc. Thanks for these amazing videos. Keep it up!

I read that in an ealy draft of the movie, Addison's trap involved two waffle irons that would clamp down on her hands when she tried to get the antidote and would slowly heat up. To free herself, she'd have to press her face into a third waffle iron, which would trigger the other irons to release her hands so she could get the antidote. Also, adding onto your point about the Razor Box trap being meant for Gus, I read that in an early draft of the movie (not sure if it's the same draft), Gus' tape would say something about him "reaching his hand into the cookie jar for money", implying that he might've been guilty of embezzlement.

Little late but at 6:12 The trap u said we never “seen” kinda looks like a prototype of the trap used in saw 7 on the woman of Bobby’s game. The fish hook-sound trap, one of the most brutal imo.

This actually helps so much! I'm trying to work on a Halloween dnd one shot and was trying to figure out what could have happened in the other rooms and the other games that were possible to be played just in case the players go into those areas.

I reckon the football helmet design was just a prototype for the reverse bear trap. The sketch shows something covering the mouth (presumably something that connects the jaw to the opening mechanism) and it has a padlock on the side of the helmet, sort of like how the bear trap had one on the back of it.

About the football helmet, people theorized that was the base idea John was going for when he was going for the iconic RBT. A device that'll be wearable upon a victim's head.

Saw II is the best Saw movie in my opinion. I hope to see the Nerve Gas House return or at least hinted at in Spiral as well as the anonymity of the Bathroom and if they found it along with the house.

Autopilot was actually invented in 1916 but it was mostly used in planes and ships. In 1986 tho, a dude had the first van that drove autonomously.

I feel like those head traps might be rough drafts for later traps for saw 7 ... Like the one girl that has a fish hook attached to a string and all those spicks drilling into her throat... Along with the girl on the rotating thing with the spicks that go through her eyes and mouth... The Wilson steel box looks like one of the box they locked jeff in

Hii! Thank you for this interesting video! I just found out, that Addison's trap was similar to Cecil's, but instead of knives, there was a hot iron (like waffle iron).

Hi! I know this video was made a little while ago, but I found the description of some of the cut traps :) For Addison, the trap planned was going to resemble a waffle iron, according to an early version of the Saw II script. Upon trying to grab a syringe with the antidote, two clamps would trap her wrists and slowly heat up. In order to free herself, she had to press her face against a third hot iron positioned right in front of her. This would activate a mechanism that would release her from the clamps so she could obtain the syringe. Other versions from sources I’ve found online have stated that she was going to be strapped to a chair and there were razors ready to cut her if she attempted to free her hands. Her tape was going to state something along the lines of, “You must sacrifice your looks to save your life.” As we know, Addison was a prostitute, and thus her “career” (if you can call it that) depended heavily on her physical appearance. She was actually intended to survive the trap! As you stated in your video, the razor box was meant for Gus Colyard. It was revealed that his tape was going to state something like, “reaching into the cookie jar for money,” suggesting he was guilty of embezzlement. Another version says, “punishing the hands guilty of harm when his anger reaches its peak,” possibly hinting at abuse towards family members. And finally, the trap meant for Jonas was a “rabid dog” test. From what I’ve read, the trap involved a rabid dog, as the name implies, and Jonas was meant to strike the dog down (potentially with the bat Xavier grabs) in order to grab an antidote off of the dog’s collar safely. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything about Laura’s trap :( But I hope you enjoy this!
