Excellent video showcasing aviation - Wilburn and Orville would be amazed at how far aviation has advanced in just 101 years...from 100 feet on a North Carolina beach to worldwide flight and beyond!

Great coverage and commentary! Loved the categories and breakdown. Would loved to have seen some gyroplanes as well but probably didn’t have any volunteers.

Love seeing full tape! Thank you! Funny, they forgot to mention the ICON A5 wings also can fold up for ease of storage 😊

Hoping their company survives. It's been a tough go for them. I have 90 minutes in one at Lake Berryessa near Vacaville, CA. Some of the most fun I've ever had flying.

To emphasize the degree of airspace restrictions over the Capitol area, should show the differences between a current and pre-9/11 Washington Sectional and Baltimore-Washington Terminal Area Charts of the additional restrictive controlled airspace, noteably the DC FRZ and SFRA added. What's ironic is that while the terrorist attack used hijacked airliners, GA is the group that still continues to suffer from these additional airspace restrictions. Would think with the Mode C/ADS-B requirement 60 nm out to identify and track all aircraft from the primary Class B airports that the FRZ could be reduced by this point if going either IFR or getting Class B clearance along with the SFRA clearance versus having the FRZ been made permanent at the same extent since 9/11. An advantage to reducing the area of the FRZ could help to make access to the DC3 GA airports (down to DC2 now) more open again without the additional TSA clearance and code requirements and also widen the VFR Flyway too. As this September is now going on 23 years, something for AOPA to push in Congress when thinking about the technical surveillance advancements made with the ADS-B requirements that have been imposed since the earlier days following 9/11 in restoring more of our "freedom to fly" around airspace of the National Capitol Area beyond the National GA Day celebration. That's my two cents from a GA rental pilot flying on and off from KFDK, KFME, KDMW and KHGR since 1985.

Sec. 760 of the FAA reauthorization bill requires the FAA, in consultation with other federal departments, to conduct a study on the Washington D.C., Special Flight Rules Area and Flight Restricted Zone to assess possible changes that decrease operational impacts and improve GA access to airports in the National Capital Region.

Okay AOPA, now how about we get some legislation to break up Arcline Equity Group from the parts monopoly they made? Not sure how jacking up the price of a starter to $2,000 because there’s no competition helps aviation. Get on it!
