Hi Ms Needlebugg. OMG. I'm a beginner stitcher, only working on my very first project that's on 14 count. LOL. I had bought a pattern that fits my mother to a T! Its called Kitchen prayer by Cottage Garden and the called for fabric is Edinberg Flax 36 count. Oh boy. I wanted to just try and see how i would do. One thing for sure, I am so glad I found your videos. Thank you so much for explaining the process of one over two. I think watching all the floss tube videos, I became excited to start something new at least get it started. I have not finished my 14 count very first project yet. LOL. I just wanted to see how I would do on a higher count. one thing for sure i think i like the coverage of two over two. Another thing, I think the highest count I would do is 28 count. Now, I am going to have to learn how to figure out how much fabric I would need to use when changing the recommended count. I just wanted to thank you so much for taking the time out and showing how to do one over two. I just find it harder to see the holes on a 36 count. and i have to wear bifocals glasses along with clip on magnifiers. I do enjoy cross stitching, but im going to learn how to figure fabric size when changing the recommended count. Hopefully, I'll find a way to do that.. thank you so much. I really learned from that one video and will be watching more. ;-)

I started stitching on linen for the first time last night. I've only use Aida before. I thought it looked awful, so uneven...I was on the verge of ripping it all out again until I watched your video, took a moment to evaluate what I have stitched so far, and now realise that it looks the way it's meant to, it's just different to the even stitches you get on Aida. Thank you for putting my mind at rest! Oh and railroading! What a difference that makes!!

Awesome tutorial. So glad you took the time to show how this is done. I find some time times that I have to go opposite instead of the left to right on the next row. Right to left. Not sure if you got what I was saying. ?? I have been told to keep the stitches going in the same direction so they lay better. Wondering if I work from top down doe that help sometimes. ?

Hi I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction. I'm looking to order 28 Count Flax Cashel Line in a full size bolt. Everywhere seems to only have precut sections.
@NeedleBugg2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven. Your best bet is to contact a shop. ( brick and mortar or online). Most shops deal with Zweigart distributors. They can order a full bolt for you. Or whatever yardage you want. A bolt I believe is 10 yards. Since you are asking for a full bolt ask them if they will give you a bit of a discount.

Such a great teacher Karen! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I thought any cloth besides Aida was linen, but you taught me differently. Lots of information in this video and very easy to follow. I assume that any cloth can handle over two, but what is the lowest count fabric that could be used for 1 over 1 with good coverage? Thank you so much for this lesson so quickly.
@NeedleBugg5 жыл бұрын
Crafty Librarian you are correct. You can do over 2 on any count linen. I did one on 56 ct over 2 it was blackbird designs spring/ winter/ autumn And put it in a tray. As for over one you can also use any count. However you would need to adjust the thread you are using. I have even experimented with 56 ct fabric using avas surfine. Can be done but best have a magnifier🤪. My preferred fabric count is 25 or 28. Tried 32 but my eyes just get too tired and i feel it would be too tedious for me to do a HAED. But many have. I have however toyed with the idea of 56 ct over 2. Yep i border on crazy🥴🤪

Great video! Thank you! I have a question. When it’s time to count over to start in a different place from where you were just stitching. I get mixed up counting the holes so I’m going to count two holes instead of one to started my next place? When I need to count five X’s over would I count 10 holes? To start a new design. Hope I’m making sense. Lol. Thank you so much!
