It’s a great pleasure to watch the quick, precise movements of a professional craftsman who is perfectly comfortable with his tools. Bravo and well done also to the person behind the camera!

Love your videos, and your focus on milsubs. My pet peeve is that few if any of the luxury manufacturers make similar watches these days, and none with sword hands. I’ve got a CWC with swords but would love a modern Rolex or Omega with swords. As an aside, was that a Black Bay 58 I saw on your wrist? If so, that’s quite a vote of confidence in the brand and in that model. I’ve got a BB 54 and love it. All the best!

Great video! Would love to see you service other vintage dive watches in the same era (Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, Zodiac Seawolf, etc)

Great work as usual! I am wondering about what products you use to match the lume color. Also would love to get one of those glass applicators for the lume.

what are the problems with having a service crystal? Your TrueDome looks very nice, but why aren't factory parts considered preferable in this case? thanks beautiful end product on a special piece
@TruePatina2 ай бұрын
Good question! Misubs were fitted with a "superdome" crystal not the flatter service one. There is a big aesthetic difference between the two. Sourcing original superdomes is difficult, costly, and also (because the acrylic is so old at this point) more brittle. For an important and expensive watch such as this, if the owner wants to wear it, it's best to have the most confidence possible in the crystal. Check out TrueDome's crystal comparison test for more clarity on the subject (pun partially intended). kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmXNkGmhZ7eLqas

703 is more water tight but obviously with a watch like that you need it to be 100% pure. I get it. I still have a 702 on my 5513. It will never see water anyway.

703 has one additional gasket on the outside of the tube so there's a little more peace of mind but if the condition of both tubes and crowns is perfect they should functioning similarly in pressure testing. If one is more worn than the other different story.

What is the movement holder you are using? It looks like it will do multiple round movement sizes.
@TruePatina2 ай бұрын
Its CNC machined specifically for this calibre only. Unfortunately the person I sourced it from is no longer making them.
