Cutting boards= no marks. Don't be a bull in the kitchen = no damages. Put ceramic coating on top of the clear resin = harder wearing surface.

When it comes to fixing resin counter tops like this you should not fill on the scratches or chips as all this would usually do is create an area where the resin does not bond properly and cause a color variation that nay look very noticeable an example is the sharpy pen which is not black and more of an oily purple, resin acts a lot like paint when fixing a scratch with a clear coat in that even though that scratched/ chipped resin looks white and and you think it would remain white in reality when you put the new layer of clear resin on it those white areas will turn back to the colour they used to be and the original colour / pattern is restored

I think sometimes we want something to work enough that we ignore the fact it’s not actually suitable… that thing is too vulnerable and reapplying a new surface every few months just seems so impractical 🤷🏼‍♂️

I won a mug! Oops I mean a storage pot with a handle 😃 Definitely not putting mine on eBay 😂 What a lovely offer James. I hope the raffle has helped fund some of the jobs on cerium 🤞🏻🥰

how awesome to extend the offer in this way. James, the resin hardens over many many days, maybe sample section each day to see if it was harder than the day before. It may take 10-14 days to achieve full hardness

Super glue, it comes in different viscosities. Use the runny stuff, then sand with 6000 grit and buff it out for scratch repair. The lower the super glue dries the less likely it is to have bubbles in it.

Congrats to the winners! Wish it was me coming so I could have a beer with you guys and help out a bit as I’m on annual leave that week. Wonder if our Alan won? Could take all the trim he’s been saving up for ya 😂

Hope you can take on board some constructive criticism. Never never never wet sand using your fingertips, The only place you are applying pressure to the abrasive is under your fingertips. This will leave areas of unprepared substrate, heard it refered to as finger furrowing in the finishing trade. Always prepare surfaces where a superior finish is required with a rubbing block.

I think your creations with the resin may merit a sideline for you. You ought to raffle your experimental pieces too. Do you plan anymore 11 fluid Oz portable storage containers.? You have marketable stuff there James. I must admit, when I saw your initial attempts at kerfing and bending ply, I thought it would be a worthy experiment that went nowhere. I'm very glad you proved me wrong as it showed a massive perseverance.

I;m not sure the scratchers left unattended is a good idea. Bacteria remains in them, I have a wood cutting block and sand paper it every couple of weeks to remove all cracks. Why don't you just buy a cutting block . IKEA has bamboo cutting boards for only about £26. As a person who cooks 3 meals a day, I would never think to cut on a shiny surface.
