Doing this is better than using epoxy on this table. The glass from the live edge river table I built 3 years ago broke, so I repurposed those cottonwood slabs to create a new live edge table with a series of stitches connecting the void. I used something better than epoxy to piece this table back together. I inlaid a series of walnut stitches with cottonwood inserts as well as a series of square patches to cover up any previous bowties and epoxy crack fills.

I am a firefighter in Southeast Texas for the past 13 years and Navy Reservist for almost 20 years. I am currently activated with the Navy to run a security program in Ft. Worth, Texas. I have been watching you for a while and love the work you do. Being separated from my wife and daughter for a year is tough, but this would be an awesome moral boost for my wife! I could make it to OKC to pick it up! *all or nothing!!

All or nothing. I’d nominate my coworker Delena and her family. They live in OK, and have had bad luck with tornadoes hitting their farm. Their kids are smaller, she and her hubby are “older” parents and live very humbly. This would be a huge gift of kindness to demonstrate that there are still MANY nice people who care and provide a lifelong reminder to the “young’ns that this was the table that started my lifelong acts of kindness and giving….if they get that, who knows, but I can always hope. Great video. Thanks

Okay - so I would like to nominate myself. Both my wife and I have been building and rebuilding homes since 1996. In 2000 we had a house fire and the lender took all the insurance to pay off the loan and we started with a burned out shell and using the « figure it out » on the weekend skills we built and raised three kids in time. Now in out our 50’s because of all the lack of money and over work - we are fully disabled. We would love to have this table. Please vote for us.

I would like to nominate my older sister who lives in OKC. She is a single mom who has been kicked down by life numerous times. My dad passed last year and left my stepmom with six brothers and sisters in elementary through high school. We are a huge family, and sharing the evening meal is always what we do. This table would be a gift for them, and I know it will be cherished. Our Dad loved to work with wood as well. There are enough of us adult siblings to get the table from OKC to Enid. Thank you for the wonderful videos.

I want to nominate my mom and dad. Having raised four kids, they sacrificed so much to provide for us. One thing that was always consistent in our home growing up was family dinner at the dinner table. It’s one of my fondest memories. Now, they have 4 kids and 4 grandkids (and counting) and need a bigger table for us all to fit at the dinner table for family time. This table would fit that perfectly. I live in the OKC metro area and love that we have such a creative youtube channel right in our backyard. Love the content! All or nothing!

My dad is the kind of hero who deserves a table like this. He is the one who taught me a love for woodworking, and how to live all or nothing. He was in the Philippines, starting a couple halfway houses for drug users, another for battered women, and a home for abused/orphaned children. Unfortunately, due to medical complications, he was forced to retire a few years ago and come back to the states. Now he, and my mom, are having to move again and you just happen to be on the way about the time you are giving this away. Oh, and this is the guy that spent 80+ hours building a personalized wooden train, to scale, and then just gave it away (easily worth over $500 if not $1,000. If you agree that my hero, who has given so much to the world, deserves a chance at a table like this, please give this comment a like.

I am a retired Nurse who used to work in Intensive Care. The unfortunate thing about Intensive Care is that I always talked to the patients (even if they were unconscious), but most of them could not respond. I nominate myself!! Although I cannot say “ I deserve” anything, I can argue that my love of art in any form is what keeps me going!!! I have, like you, used my ADHD, to allow me to learn ( and obsess) pottery, glass work ( fused and stained) upholstery, painting with oil, acrylic and I realized it’s just from my love of color and uniqueness. I’ve taken that love of color and switched to pastry art where I’ve been able to use on a large scale for charity work and donating back to my community. I’m sure there are others that will have a more completing story so, I would nominate those folks as well. Thanks for your art, ability to ramble (effectively to keep people engaged) and entertainment. The patches are art and personality! All or nothing

Here goes all or nothing. I too have been a runner all my life (though my knees will no longer allow that affectation), but now a retired small medical practice administrator, ex-military & commercial pilot, ex-bank loan officer, I am forced to take on two part time jobs just to make ends meet. I nominate ME:) - even though I suspect there are other people responding who may be more deserving. I started my first-time-in-my-life hobby, woodworking, when I retired. I told my wife I would build our first ever formal dining table, but I am not even able to afford the wood. Bummer. We have the room for it, and I can pick it up myself. His dad has recently passed but he’s carried on in working on their projects together while teaching me in the process. He’s given me so much in terms of support and encouragement for developing my skills and I’d love to build them a dining room table to say thanks. All or nothing- I would nominate my wife because honestly, she is a super star for being a full homestead mom, making to food from scratch to support the kiddo's special diet, homeschooling our kids, and above all else- putting up with my and all my crazy tinkering. Also- lets be real, the holes in the middle are no issue, it just gives an easier path for our 2 and 4 year old to get food onto the floor. This just skips the step of it being smeared half way across creation before hitting the floor. Been liking your video's man- and love the encouraging tidbits your drop in.

I would like to nominate this table for my husband. He is prior service in the army for 12 years and was medically retired a couple years ago due to multiple health conditions that came up during his service. The first year was the HARDEST year we have been through in the 15 years we have been together, mentally he was in a really bad place and had a really hard time adjusting. He is very much a "do just enough" kind of guy since we met at 19 but recently we started attending a technical school for combination welding together so we have a hobby to maybe one day turn into a family business. While we have been in school he has gone above and beyond my expectations and has not been a "do just enough" guy but is working so incredibly hard to be top of the class. I am so incredibly proud of how hard he has been working and this table with be an amazing gift I could give to him! I appreciate your videos and I have learned a lot of my woodworking from them, I hope to see more welding content now that it is an added hobby of ours!

I'm personally not a fan of the look, but fully acknowledge that people like different things. That said, I have a friend in OK that would definitely appreciate it. This man, whom I've never met physically, has been an incredible inspiration in my own life. He's what I would call a "starving actor" (though I think he's doing well enough that, with supplemental income, he's getting by). But I know how much time and effort he puts into pursuing his passion, often to the detriment of a comfortable lifestyle. If there's anybody I know that could use something like this, and would appreciate it for the time, effort, and passion that went into it, it would be him. You're both all or nothing kind of people.

But I do love the wabi-sabi aesthetic, and I love how you're repurposing something damaged and whose style no longer appeals into something new that you can be proud of in entirely new ways. I also like the rambling, and the "shut up and cut" people can mute their speakers or go take pictures of themselves. My femur bone was trying to dislocate itself virtually every hour; it was so bad that I went from walking up right no problem to wheel chair bound in less than two months. All or Nothing - I have a cop in Indiana for the past 17 years and served in the military for 14 years where I deployed to Iraq. I have been watching you for the last couple years and even went to Workbench Con this year where I was disappointed you didn't come and hang out. I will gladly make the trip to OKC to pick this table up. This table would definitely would be a step up from my DIY farmhouse table..

I'm gonna nominate my parents, we live in a small town in South-Western Ontario. She's an officeworker, he's a programmer, and we've been living with the same dining room set for over 18 years. They're both good people who love they're families very much

All or nothing! I nominate my niece, Jacey. She’s been asking me to try to make her a table, but I’ve never built anything big & I’m a pretty small gal, so working with big wood projects is difficult. Jacey lives in Chickasha & drives to work in OKC. She is just getting started in life, & works hard. She is getting married soon & this would be a perfect wedding gift for a very sweet & caring young lady. Pick up would not be a problem.

There are so many people make tables and furniture on KZbin, that do things differently than you, if someone doesn't like what you do honestly they can watch something else. I personally enjoy your talking and story telling. Great repair job I love the patchwork and stitching. All or nothing 👍

"All or Nothing". I live outside of Texarkana, TX, on I 30. So, even though driving to OKC would be just a few hours drive there and back, I'm not sure on how I feel about this build. I'll read comments and pick one to like so someone else has a chance to win it. Thanks Jonny for sharing this video with us.

Injured federal correctional officer, and decided all or nothing on a woodworking business because they’re forcing me into medical retirement. If I win the table I would drive from Wyoming to OKC to pick it up. I’d take some cool pictures with it and then sell it to get a dust collector, band saw, and a set of chisels and planes because damn this is expensive trying to start a business. Yea I’ll probably get 1 vote and that person is AWESOME!!!

I want to nominate my friend Stephanie. She's a teacher in Oklahoma and has been working hard for over a decade with the goal of buying her own house with her husband. They finally pulled it off recently, and closed on their first house. This table would be an amazing housewarming gift, they live in Oklahoma, and she wouldn't otherwise be able to afford amazing things like this easily. All or nothing!

My family of 7 needs a table that big. We eat dinner at a table my mom got us at a garage sale every night. But honestly even though I have friends in Oklahoma they aren’t financially capable of sending it to me and I’m in no position to pay for it myself. You see I am a disabled combat veteran living in Los Angeles county in California and I’m just struggling to pay the bills. It’s a beautiful table and whoever gets it will be blessed to have it.

I’d love to see a video of the oven build! I find watching all of these processes incredibly fascinating. I also have the habit of taking up and obsessing over new hobbies. In my case that’s mostly due to ADHD, but I don’t mind it!

I would love to win this table to actually give to my parents. They have always been so supportive of everything my siblings and I have done. They supportive my decision to join the OK Army National Guard when I was just 17 and a half and a junior in high school. They have also been a huge help with my children over the years. They also attempt to make attend as many events as they can for my nieces and nephew, whether it be a volleyball tournament in Florida or a grandparent's day program in St. Louis. I can't think of a better way to thank them for everything they do than to give them a beautiful table to use for family dinners.

When drilling metal with HSS drill bits, the rpm is most important. Today’s hand drills really suck for this purpose. But for any of your basic structural steel the Cutting Speed to use is 60. For most stainless steels the Cutting Speed to use is 30. The formula is 4xCS/diameter. So the tube steel that you were using requires 60CS so 240/@.375”=640 rpm. Most brushless motor drills in low gear and full trigger turn 500 rpm. But a 25% reduction in rpm is good to keep the drill bits from burning up. As long as the pressure applied is sufficient to keep the bit cutting the metal out. The amount of oil needed for that size hole in that size steel is actually only one drop. I do apologize for wasting your time if this info is not needed and I apologize for making such a long comment. I do hope this helps and that you appreciate. Thankyou for your videos.

This table is absolutely beautiful. I am in awe of your art and skill. I am typically all-or-nothing in my hobbies -- knit, crochet, cross-stitch, etc.. Currently, I've rediscovered my love of counted cross-stitch. The last time I worked one, the technology was very different. Now, I'm really enjoying the parts I always loved -- and how the tech has helped me with the 'boring stuff'. Keep doing you 'cause I like what you do!

ALL OR NOTHING!!! I am a huge fan of your work and I am nominating one of the coolest people I have ever met (who lives in OK) and had the honor of serving with with. I nominate my old patrol partner Maegan Smith. She was police officer for 10+ years (OK AND WA) but more importantly my partner for many of those years. She is one of the most selfless, giving people I have ever met and I look up to her so much more than she will ever know. She is no longer a LEO because of a medical incident that she went through, which sadly stopped her career short. Maegan is a survivor of breast cancer and a true hero. Since I have known Maegan, she has put others before herself and continues to do so. I wish I could give her the world because she deserves it.

I have only used purpleheart a few times, and love how it looks. but in those few times I have broken more than a reasonable number of tools on it. I know that a lot of people won't like your idea for the stitches, but you can't please everyone. good on you for following through on your plan. I think it looks great. I would really like to have this table, but I can't follow rule #1. I am a disabled vet living in far norther California, and I dont even have a vehicle to carry my wheelchair, little own a truck to haul that beautiful table home. so Grats to who ever does win it. all or nothing.

I have the perfect place for a table like that. We have a dance floor in our basement and it would be a wonderful addition for people to sit around. We always include those who don't dance and make it fun for everybody with usually a little trivia contest that follows the theme of our event. We really need to have more tables for people to sit around and this would be a wonderful addition. I think it would really be worth the trip to bring our enclosed trailer behind our RV to come pick up the table. We live in Sturgis, SD and yes the Sturgis Rally just ended this last week. We don't have a head count, but we did have 485,000 vehicles come to town. Probably have to put the BMW R1250RS in the trailer too so we can go explore some of your state. As a former Air Traffic Controller who went out on strike with PATCO in 1981 I have found memories of the FAA training that I received in Oak City. I recently got into woodworking and got a CNC machine now. What a wonderful tool. I would love to see your shop and pick your brain for ideas. The goal of any woodworker is to make something beautiful out of something damaged. I think we are all a little damaged. What you do with it is up to you. Loved the ending of the video.

All or Nothing!!! I’ve not peed in a wet suit but one time while my family and I were lost in the mountains, I had to poop. I ask my wife and girls to look the other way while I pinched one off. Thanks to a search and rescue team we all made it out of the mountains. I’d like to nominate my oldest daughter and future son in law as I remember getting pretty upset with her while in the mountains that day. I did apologize but I made a mistake, this would be a great piece for them to tell the story of dad pooping in the woods when while we were lost in the mountains.

All or nothing, but I am a maker myself. Recently, due to unforeseen circumstances I had to sale my Thunder Laser and now I am starting over. I am trying to learn the in’s and outs of furniture design and going back to my original repurposing of antique pieces. I would love to have a table like this in my home that I am currently remodeling. It would stand out, because it is a double wide that I am, I guess you would say, repurposing for my family, but I love the perfection in the imperfections of it. It shows me that not only I start over, but anything can start over and have another chance. I may not deserve it more than anyone else, I actually never ask for much, but I would ask for a chance to own this beautiful piece. If I could afford it I would definitely invest in one, but right now I am trying to save for my home. Thanks for the consideration

"hello darkness my old friend" at the glass breaking. I felt the shame and disgust, then had a good laugh. failure comes with ease when you've learned everything the hard way on your own, often backwards from diving in head first (yeah do not do that in shallow pools)... I about knocked myself out before playing "whom can dive into the shallow above ground pool at the steepest angle" I won and rang my own bell when my head hit the bottom, nearly blacking me out. luckily for me, it was a second or three and I jumped up. lets go 1980's! weeeeeee.
