This Grand Prix is stunning!!! I like the bucket seats with center console & a working clock to boot!!! The silver finish with the black vinyl top is very rich looking!!! The 69 thru 72 Grand Prix's are my favorite years & this baby is gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting video!!! 👍👍🙂

My favorite years of the GP are the same as yours. That hood is the longest in any American car and the interior has splendid features. To top it off, that Revere Silver paint really makes this a very attractive example. Just downright gorgeous. Thanks Chris so much for liking this Grand Prix.

I've always said every element of this design was spectacular. Now add a silver or gray to any vehicle, and it just flat out blows you away! Sporty and elegant. Love the way the headlight bulges extend into the hood. The interior and how it wrapped around the driver as if in a cockpit was masterful.

Every last design and styling feature you mentioned makes this year of the GP very special. That silver paint is stunning. The headlight bulges you described morphing into the hood is ideal. And that dash ! Wraparound the driver like a plane cockpit. Another example of what I call the Golden Age of Pontiac, and this GP sure shows this. Thanks so much Joe for your comments.

Nice ride, always wanted a Grand Prix, there are a couple in my area that you see at car shows once in awhile low mileage garage kept owned since new, one of them has been passed down from the grandfather to grandson, it was the last new Pontiac the grandfather bought from a dealership that was once here in town before the Pontiac dealership burnet to the ground.

Always like to hear about a well taken care of car that is passed down to the family members. The last Pontiac grandpa bought from a now defunct dealer. Great story and great to know that the Pontiac GP will continue to be cared for by the same family. I am so glad you like this silver GP Rusty and many thanks.

I've never understood why the designers didn''t allow the sheet metal of the hood to continue just a few more inches forward so it eliminated the seam that particularly stands out on light colored cars. I don't see any good reason for not doing that. Otherwise these were stunning designs.
@55lincoln
@55lincoln Жыл бұрын
That hood dimension is the largest American hood created but I bet there was no thought by the designers of even thinking about that seam. It does stand out on light color cars more so than the dark shades. Must have been an engineering error. But, that said, I'm glad you enjoyed most of this GP and thanks to you Kirby.

@55lincoln I enjoyed it as I do all of your videos. I was under the impression the 1969 Monte Carlo held the hood-length record, but maybe I am mistaken. Thanks
@55lincoln
@55lincoln Жыл бұрын
@@kirbywaite1586 I didn't think about the Monte's hood length. Researched only on the GP. So not sure about any other GM car. Glad you enjoy my videos. It means a lot and thanks Kirby.

@@55lincoln You betcha buddy. Super glad to do it. Love those old Pontiacs I had a 68 Firebird also. It was a fine ride to had a 400 in it also with a 4 barrel Quadra jet and it would scoot more top end after it get rolling and mash it it would climb quick to a 125 mph and I would let off it. Scared of dips in the road lot of dips in those days. If u hit something u be history ⚰️ young and dumb. Piss and vinegar. 😂

@@bradclem6226 Of all the cars I've owned, I never owned a Pontiac of any kind although always a big fan of them. My Aunt had a 54 sedan and a 59 hardtop so I've ridden in both and enjoyed it. Yes, you put a 400 with a 4 barrel Quadra Jet and that Firebird would take off like a plane on a runway. I know how dips in the road could be a killer. Once, I pushed my 76 Cutlass on a two lane country road with no shoulders to see how fast it could go. Got close to 100 and then the dips showed up and almost lost control of the car. Like you back then, young and dumb full of piss and vinegar - and beer. Thanks Brad for you comments.
