560SL - Installing the Exhaust and Heat Shields

1987 560SL Update! In this short video, I install the entire exhaust system including heat shields and oxygen sensor. I will be testing my KZbin live stream this Sunday May 12, 2024. Arizona is in the -7 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time zone. I will also announce during when I will attempt to start my 560SL for the first time since 2008!

Why is there paint on the undercarriage. Did it come like that from the factory or was it due to a repair? I’ve seen several cars with overspray (or under spray?) under the car.

Yes, that’s exactly how they came. In fact, here is a link to a bunch of photos of a 1987 560SL with 1,900 original miles that sold for $156,000! Thanks for responding, I watched every single episode, I’m a big fan and hope one day to get thru a similar project ( I have 2 380SL). Surprising that the paint marks passed Merc’ quality control. Beautiful car on BaT, but why do people buy one not to drive it? Looking forward to live start, good luck!
